Verse 17. — Who said to God: Depart from us. Who can doubt that blessed Job also said this? But what we have already expounded in his words, we forbear to repeat, lest it weary the reader. There follows: In the same place. — And they esteemed him as though the Almighty could do nothing. In these words too the phrasing is changed, but not the sense.
