Verse 14. How much am I then, that I should answer him, and speak my words with him? 27. They cannot dispute concerning the judgments of God who are pressed by the weight of corruption.—As if he openly said: If that creature which is not pressed by flesh is not sufficient to consider him, with what mind do I dispute concerning his judgments, I who am straitened by the weight of corruption? But just as often the words of God toward us are his judgments, which speak the sentence of our deeds, so our words toward God are the works which we exhibit. But man is not able to speak with God in his own words, because before his subtle judgment he holds no confidence concerning his own acts. Whence also fittingly it is subjoined:
