(Chapter 22, verse 2) — Can a man be compared to God, even when he shall be of perfect knowledge? 1. Our knowledge, compared to the divine, is ignorance. — For in comparison with God, our knowledge is ignorance. For we are wise by participation in God, not by comparison with Him. What wonder, then, when that is said as though by way of teaching which could have been known even if it had been left unsaid? He who still, as though defending the power of God, adds:
