Verse 12.—'They have turned night into day.' 47. The saints prefer to endure evils rather than to be wearied by the care of good things.—For the dissipated thoughts turn night into day, because sometimes it pleases the just more to endure evils from adversity than to be wearied from prosperity by the care of earthly administration. But because they know more warily both that adverse things pass away and that prosperous things shine forth again, it is aptly added:
