Instructed by temptations we grow. — Behold, instructed by temptations he grew, who recognizes both, in the virtue possessed, the bounty of the Giver, and, in the disturbance, the power of Him who takes away the fortitude. This fortitude, however, is not taken away, but, being disturbed, is wearied; so that the shaken mind, while it now trembles as if just now losing it, being always made humble, may never lose it.
