V. 23. — Who can search out his ways? or who dares to say to him: You have wrought iniquity? We ought by no means to search his judgments, much less to reprove them. — As if he should say: How can that be reproved whose action cannot be searched out? For no one judges well what he does not know. Therefore we ought to rest the more in silence beneath his judgments, the more we perceive that we do not see the reason of his judgments.
