(Verse 4) — Will He reprove you out of fear, and come with you into judgment? 3. It is idle to say of God what no one is ignorant of. — Who, even a fool, would suppose this — that the Lord reproves us out of fear, and out of dread sets His judgment against us? But those who know not how to weigh their words undoubtedly slip into idle sayings. And in these, if they do not correct themselves in the least, they immediately leap forth into harmful and insulting words.
