以西結書 第 32 章

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, take up a lament over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him: You were likened to a lion of the nations, and you are like the dragon that is in the sea; and you butted with your rivers, and troubled the water with your feet, and trampled your rivers.

Thus says the Lord: I will also cast over you the nets of many peoples, and I will bring you up with my hook.

And I will stretch you out upon the land; the plains shall be filled with you, and I will settle upon you all the birds of the heaven, and I will fill all the beasts of all the earth from you.

And I will lay your flesh upon the mountains, and I will fill them from your blood.

And the land shall be drenched from your discharge, from your multitude upon the mountains; I will fill the ravines from you.

And when you are quenched I will cover the heaven and darken its stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

All the luminaries that give light in the heaven shall be darkened over you, and I will bring darkness upon your land, says the Lord, the Lord.

And I will provoke to anger the heart of many peoples, when I lead your captivity among the nations, into a land which you have not known.

And many nations shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall be utterly astonished when my sword flies before their faces, as they await their own fall from the day of your fall.

For thus says the Lord: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.

By the swords of giants I will cast down your strength; they are all pestilent men from the nations. And they shall destroy the pride of Egypt, and all her strength shall be shattered.

And I will destroy all her cattle from beside the abundant water; and the foot of man shall trouble it no more, nor shall the hoof of cattle trample it.

Then their waters shall be still, and their rivers shall flow like oil, says the Lord,

when I make Egypt a desolation, and the land is made desolate with its fullness, when I scatter all who dwell in her; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

It is a lament, and you shall lament for him; and the daughters of the nations shall lament for him; over Egypt and over all her strength shall they lament for her, says the Lord, the Lord.

And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the first month, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Son of man, lament over the strength of Egypt; and the nations shall bring down her daughters dead into the depth of the earth, to those who go down to the pit.

They shall fall with him in the midst of those slain by the sword, and all his strength shall lie down.

And the giants shall say to you in the depth of the pit: Be there! Whom are you better than? Go down and lie with the uncircumcised, in the midst of those slain by the sword.

There is Assur and all his assembly, all slain; they were given over there, and their burial is in the depth of the pit; and his assembly came to be round about his grave, all the slain who had fallen by the sword,

those who had spread their terror in the land of the living.

There is Ailam and all his host round about his grave, all the slain who had fallen by the sword, and those who went down uncircumcised into the depth of the earth, who had spread their terror in the land of the living; and they received their torment with those who go down to the pit,

in the midst of the slain.

There were given over Mosoch and Thobel and all their strength, round about his grave, all his slain, all uncircumcised, slain by the sword, who had spread their terror in the land of the living.

And they lay with the giants who had fallen of old, who went down to Hades with their weapons of war, and they laid their swords under their heads; and their iniquities came upon their bones, because they terrified giants in the land of the living.

And you too shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.

There were given over the rulers of Assur, who gave his strength over to the wound of the sword; these lay with the slain, with those who go down to the pit.

There are the rulers of the north, all the commanders of Assur, who go down slain, with their terror and their strength; they lay uncircumcised with those slain by the sword, and they bore their torment with those who go down to the pit.

Pharaoh the king shall see them and be comforted over all their strength, says the Lord, the Lord.

For I have set his terror in the land of the living; and he shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword — Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord, the Lord.
