Son of man, take up a lament over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him: You were likened to a lion of the nations, and you are like the dragon that is in the sea; and you butted with your rivers, and troubled the water with your feet, and trampled your rivers.
And I will stretch you out upon the land; the plains shall be filled with you, and I will settle upon you all the birds of the heaven, and I will fill all the beasts of all the earth from you.
And many nations shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall be utterly astonished when my sword flies before their faces, as they await their own fall from the day of your fall.
By the swords of giants I will cast down your strength; they are all pestilent men from the nations. And they shall destroy the pride of Egypt, and all her strength shall be shattered.
And I will destroy all her cattle from beside the abundant water; and the foot of man shall trouble it no more, nor shall the hoof of cattle trample it.
when I make Egypt a desolation, and the land is made desolate with its fullness, when I scatter all who dwell in her; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
It is a lament, and you shall lament for him; and the daughters of the nations shall lament for him; over Egypt and over all her strength shall they lament for her, says the Lord, the Lord.
Son of man, lament over the strength of Egypt; and the nations shall bring down her daughters dead into the depth of the earth, to those who go down to the pit.
And the giants shall say to you in the depth of the pit: Be there! Whom are you better than? Go down and lie with the uncircumcised, in the midst of those slain by the sword.
There is Assur and all his assembly, all slain; they were given over there, and their burial is in the depth of the pit; and his assembly came to be round about his grave, all the slain who had fallen by the sword,
There is Ailam and all his host round about his grave, all the slain who had fallen by the sword, and those who went down uncircumcised into the depth of the earth, who had spread their terror in the land of the living; and they received their torment with those who go down to the pit,
There were given over Mosoch and Thobel and all their strength, round about his grave, all his slain, all uncircumcised, slain by the sword, who had spread their terror in the land of the living.
And they lay with the giants who had fallen of old, who went down to Hades with their weapons of war, and they laid their swords under their heads; and their iniquities came upon their bones, because they terrified giants in the land of the living.
There were given over the rulers of Assur, who gave his strength over to the wound of the sword; these lay with the slain, with those who go down to the pit.
There are the rulers of the north, all the commanders of Assur, who go down slain, with their terror and their strength; they lay uncircumcised with those slain by the sword, and they bore their torment with those who go down to the pit.
For I have set his terror in the land of the living; and he shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword — Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord, the Lord.
