And he brought me out into the outer court eastward, opposite the gate that faces north; and he brought me in, and behold, five chambers, adjoining the remaining space and adjoining the dividing structure toward the north.
They were laid out in the manner of the gates of the inner court, and in the manner of the colonnades of the outer court, set in rows, facing one another, in three tiers of porticoes.
And the upper walkways were likewise, for the colonnade projected out of it, out of the colonnade beneath; and the space likewise: colonnade and space, and so the porticoes.
For they were in three tiers, and had no pillars like the pillars of the outer ones; therefore they projected out beyond the lower and the middle ones from the ground.
At the light at the beginning of the walkway; and those toward the south, facing the south, facing the remaining space and facing the dividing structure, there were chambers.
And the walkway before them was according to the measurements of the chambers toward the north, according to their length and according to their breadth, and according to all their exits and all their turnings and their lights and their doorways.
So also for the chambers toward the south: their doorways from the beginning of the walkway, as toward the light of a space of a reed; and eastward, so that one might go in by them.
And he said to me: The chambers toward the north and the chambers toward the south, which face the spaces, these are the chambers of the sanctuary, where the priests, the sons of Sadduk, who draw near to the Lord, shall eat the most holy things; and there they shall lay the most holy things and the offering and the offerings for sin and the offerings for ignorance, because the place is holy.
None shall enter there except the priests. They shall not go out from the holy place into the outer court, so that those who draw near may be holy continually; and they shall not touch their vestments in which they minister, because they are holy; and they shall put on other garments whenever they touch the people.
And the measuring of the house within was finished, and he brought me out by the way of the gate that looks eastward, and he measured the pattern of the house round about in order.
The four sides by the same reed. And he set it in order, and a wall around them: five hundred toward the east and five hundred cubits in breadth, to divide between the holy things and the outer wall belonging to the arrangement of the house.
