And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming by the way of the gate that looks eastward; and the sound of the camp was like the sound of many redoubling, and the earth shone like brightness from the glory round about.
And the vision which I saw was like the vision which I saw when I went in to anoint the city; and the vision of the chariot which I saw was like the vision which I saw at the river Chobar. And I fall upon my face.
And he said to me: Son of man, have you seen the place of my throne and the place of the sole of my feet, where my name shall dwell in the midst of the house of Israel forever? And the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they nor their rulers, by their fornication and by the murders of their rulers in their midst.
In that they set my threshold by their thresholds and my doorposts next to their doorposts, and made my wall as joined between me and them; and they defiled my holy name by the lawless deeds they did; and I consumed them in my wrath and with slaughter.
And they shall receive their punishment for all that they have done. And you shall draw the house and its exits and its foundation and all its ordinances; and all its statutes you shall make known to them, and you shall draw it before them; and they shall keep all my judgments and all my ordinances and do them.
And these are the measurements of the altar, in the cubit of a cubit and a handbreadth: the hollow base, a cubit in depth and a cubit in breadth, and a rim upon its edge round about of a span; and this is the height of the altar.
From the depth of the beginning of its hollow to the great propitiatory beneath, two cubits, and the breadth a cubit; and from the small propitiatory to the great propitiatory, four cubits, and the breadth a cubit.
And the propitiatory was fourteen cubits in length by fourteen cubits in breadth, on its four sides; and its rim went round about it, half a cubit; and its base round about, a cubit; and its steps looked eastward.
And he said to me: Son of man, thus says the Lord God of Israel: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day of its making, for offering up whole burnt offerings upon it and pouring blood against it.
And you shall give to the priests, the Levites, of the seed of Sadduk, who draw near to me, says the Lord God, to minister to me, a calf from the herd for a sin offering.
And they shall take of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar and on the four corners of the propitiatory and on the base round about, and they shall make atonement for it.
And on the second day they shall take two kids of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall make atonement for the altar, just as they made atonement with the calf.
And it shall be that from the eighth day and onward the priests shall offer upon the altar your whole burnt offerings and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says the Lord.
