Psalms 28

Greek original · 9 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 27ch. 29 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 28 here = Ps 27 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

28:1
Of David. To you, O Lord, I cried out; my God, do not keep silent toward me, lest you keep silent toward me and I become like those who go down into the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplication when I supplicate you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy temple.
Do not drag away my soul together with sinners, nor destroy me with those who work injustice, who speak peace with their neighbours but have evil in their hearts.
Give to them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their practices; give to them according to the works of their hands; render to them their recompense.
For they did not understand the works of the Lord nor the works of his hands; you will pull them down and will not build them up.
Blessed be the Lord, for he has heard the voice of my supplication.
The Lord is my helper and my protector; in him my heart hoped, and I was helped; and my flesh revived, and of my own will I will give thanks to him.
The Lord is the strength of his people, and he is the protector of the salvation of his anointed.
Save your people and bless your inheritance; shepherd them and lift them up for ever.
