Psalms 32

Greek original · 11 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 31ch. 33 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 32 here = Ps 31 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

32:1
Of David. Of understanding. Blessed are those whose lawless deeds were forgiven and whose sins were covered over.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin, and in whose mouth there is no deceit.
Because I kept silent, my bones grew old through my crying all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; I was turned to misery while a thorn was fixed in me. Interlude.
I made my sin known and did not cover my lawlessness. I said, "I will confess my lawlessness against myself to the Lord," and you forgave the ungodliness of my sin. Interlude.
For this let every devout one pray to you at a fitting time; only in a flood of many waters shall they not come near to him.
You are my refuge from the affliction that surrounds me; you are my exultation. Redeem me from those who have encircled me. Interlude.
I will give you understanding and instruct you in this way which you shall go; I will fix my eyes upon you.
Do not become like a horse and a mule, which have no understanding; with bit and bridle constrain their jaws — those who will not draw near to you.
Many are the scourges of the sinner; but as for the one who hopes in the Lord, mercy will surround him.
Be glad in the Lord and exult, you righteous; and boast, all you who are upright in heart.
