Greek original · 31 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 108ch. 110 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
⚠️ Psalms use Masoretic (Hebrew) numbering, which differs from printed Vulgate and Septuagint editions: Ps 109 here = Ps 108 in print. Convert before citing a printed edition.
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

109:1
To the end. Pertaining to Dauid. A psalm. O God, do not pass over my praise in silence,
歸於終結。大衛的詩。神啊,求你不要對我的讚美閉口不言;
109:2
for the mouth of a sinner and the mouth of a deceitful man have been opened against me; they have spoken against me with a deceitful tongue.
And they surrounded me with words of hatred, and made war against me without cause.
In return for my loving them, they slandered me; but I kept praying.
And they set evils against me in return for good things, and hatred in return for my love.
Appoint a sinner over him, and let an accuser stand at his right hand.
When he is judged, let him come out condemned, and let his prayer become sin.
Let his days be few, and let another take his office of oversight.
Let his sons become orphans, and his wife a widow.
Let his sons be tossed about and wander, and let them beg; let them be driven out of their ruined dwellings.
Let a creditor search out all that belongs to him; let strangers plunder his labours.
Let there be no helper for him, nor anyone to show pity to his orphans.
Let his children be given to utter destruction; in one generation let his name be blotted out.
Let the lawlessness of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, and let his mother's sin not be blotted out.
Let them be before the Lord continually, and let their memory be destroyed from the earth,
願這些罪常在主面前;願他們的記念從地上被除滅;
109:16
because he did not remember to show mercy, but pursued a man who was needy and poor and pierced in heart, to put him to death.
And he loved cursing, and it shall come upon him; and he did not want blessing, and it shall be far from him.
And he put on cursing like a garment, and it entered like water into his inward parts, and like oil into his bones.
Let it be to him like a garment that he wraps around himself, and like a belt that he girds on continually.
This is the work of those who slander me from the Lord, and of those who speak evil things against my soul.
But you, O Lord, Lord, deal with me for the sake of your name, for your mercy is good.
Rescue me, for I am poor and needy, and my heart has been troubled within me.
Like a shadow when it declines I was taken away; I was shaken off like locusts.
My knees have grown weak from fasting, and my flesh was changed because of oil.
And I became a reproach to them; they saw me, they shook their heads.
Help me, O Lord my God; save me according to your mercy.
And let them know that this is your hand, and that you, O Lord, have done it.
They will curse, but you will bless; let those who rise up against me be put to shame, but let your servant be glad.
Let those who slander me be clothed with disgrace, and let them wrap their shame about them like a double cloak.
I will give thanks to the Lord exceedingly with my mouth, and in the midst of many I will praise him,
我要用口極力稱謝主,在眾人中間讚美他;
109:31
for he stood at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who pursue my soul.
