📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

2:1
Why did the nations rage, and peoples devise vain things?
The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his anointed. Interlude
Let us break apart their bonds, and cast away from us their yoke.
He who dwells in the heavens will laugh them to scorn, and the Lord will mock them.
Then he will speak to them in his anger, and in his wrath he will throw them into confusion:
But I have been appointed king by him over Zion, his holy mountain,
declaring the ordinance of the Lord. The Lord said to me: You are my son; today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will give you nations as your inheritance, and the ends of the earth as your possession.
You will shepherd them with a rod of iron; like a potter's vessel you will shatter them.
And now, O kings, understand; be instructed, all you who judge the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear, and exult in him with trembling.
Lay hold of instruction, lest the Lord be angry and you perish from the righteous way, when his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who trust in him.
