The exposition being carried from the latter part of verse 21 of chapter 28 up to (but not including) verse 21 of the following chapter, various senses are opened up no less learnedly than devoutly, especially concerning Christ and the Church. What wonder if the eternal Wisdom of God cannot be beheld, when even those invisible things which were made through it cannot be comprehended by human eyes? In created things, therefore, let us learn with what great humility we are to reverence the Creator of all, so that in this life the human mind may dare to arrogate nothing to itself of the vision of Almighty God — a reward which He reserves for His elect alone in the recompense that is to follow.
