Outside the true Church God is not truly worshipped. — For they think that they worship God everywhere, that they themselves have occupied the whole world. What then does it mean to say: Shall the earth be forsaken for your sake, except this which they often say to the faithful, namely, that if what you say is true, then the whole earth has been forsaken by God, which we now hold by reason of our multitude; whereas the wounded universal Church preaches that God cannot truly be worshipped except within herself, asserting that all who are outside her will by no means be saved.
