In the punishments of sins God weighs the hearts of men, not the deeds, 449. Sins redeemed by alms are not to be repeated, 63. After penance one must not return to sins, 1131. Not only all together, but even individual sins are to be blotted out, 84, 85. Likewise the sins of thoughts, 85. It profits nothing to abandon sin unless it be cleansed by weeping, 87.
