We have gladly received your petition and that of your congregation, granting effect to your prayers according to the statutes of the Fathers and the form of law. For to our brother and fellow-bishop Castorius, by an injunction transmitted to him in a letter, and to his successors, we have wholly taken away from you and your monastery every power of injury; so that neither shall he henceforth be engaged in troubling you, nor shall the goods of the monastery be inventoried, nor shall there be a public procession there; that jurisdiction, namely, being left to him, that in the place of a deceased abbot he shall ordain another whom the common consent of the congregation has chosen as worthy.
