8:1
And God remembered Noe, and all the wild beasts and all the cattle and all the birds and all the creeping things that were with him in the ark; and God brought a wind upon the earth, and the water abated.
8:2
And the fountains of the abyss were covered over, and the cataracts of heaven, and the rain from heaven was restrained.
8:3
And the water receded, going back from the earth; it receded, and the water was diminished after a hundred and fifty days.
8:4
And the ark settled in the seventh month, on the twenty-seventh of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
8:5
And the water going back was diminished until the tenth month; and in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
8:6
And it came to pass after forty days that Noe opened the window of the ark which he had made,
8:7
and he sent forth the raven to see whether the water had abated; and it went out and did not return until the water was dried from the earth.
8:8
And he sent forth the dove after it, to see whether the water had abated from the face of the earth.
8:9
And the dove, not finding rest for its feet, returned to him into the ark, because the water was upon all the face of all the earth; and he stretched out his hand and took it, and brought it in to himself into the ark.
8:10
And having waited yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove out of the ark.
8:11
And the dove returned to him toward evening, and it had an olive leaf, a dry twig, in its mouth; and Noe knew that the water had abated from the earth.
8:12
And having waited yet another seven days, he again sent forth the dove, and it did not return to him again.
8:13
And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year in the life of Noe, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the water failed from the earth; and Noe uncovered the roof of the ark which he had made, and saw that the water had failed from the face of the earth.
8:14
And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh of the month, the earth was dried.
8:15
And the Lord God spoke to Noe, saying,
8:16
Go out from the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives with you.
8:17
And all the wild beasts that are with you, and all flesh from birds to cattle, and every creeping thing that moves upon the earth, bring out with yourself; and increase and multiply upon the earth.
8:18
And Noe went out, and his wife and his sons and his sons' wives with him.
8:19
And all the wild beasts and all the cattle and every bird and every creeping thing that moves upon the earth, after their kind, went out of the ark.
8:20
And Noe built an altar to God, and took of all the clean cattle and of all the clean birds, and offered up whole burnt offerings upon the altar.
8:21
And the Lord God smelled an odour of fragrance, and the Lord God said, having pondered, I will not again curse the earth because of the works of men, for the mind of man is intently set upon evil things from youth; therefore I will not again smite all living flesh, as I have done.
8:22
All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and spring, day and night shall not cease.
