And the two angels came to Sodom at evening; and Lot was sitting by the gate of Sodom. And when Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, and did obeisance with his face to the ground.
And he said, Behold, my lords, turn aside to the house of your servant, and lodge, and wash your feet; and rising early you shall go on your way. But they said, No, but we will lodge in the street.
And he pressed them hard, and they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread for them, and they ate.
And they called out to Lot and said to him, Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have intercourse with them.
But I have two daughters who have not known a man; I will bring them out to you, and use them as it pleases you; only do nothing unjust to these men, since they have come under the shelter of my beams.
And they said, Stand back there. You came alone to sojourn — shall you also judge judgement? Now then we will treat you worse than them. And they pressed hard upon the man Lot, and drew near to break the door.
And the men said to Lot, Have you any one here — sons-in-law, or sons, or daughters, or if you have any other in the city? Bring them out of this place.
So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law who had taken his daughters, and said, Rise up and go out of this place, for the Lord is wiping out the city. But he seemed to be jesting before his sons-in-law.
And when dawn was breaking, the angels urged Lot, saying, Rise up, take your wife and your two daughters whom you have, and go out, lest you also perish with the lawlessness of the city.
And it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that they said, Save your own life; do not look back, nor stop anywhere in the surrounding country; escape to the mountain, lest you be swept away with them.
Since your servant has found mercy before you, and you have magnified your righteousness which you show toward me in keeping my soul alive; but I shall not be able to escape to the mountain, lest the evils overtake me and I die.
And he looked down upon the face of Sodom and Gomorra and upon the face of the surrounding land, and he looked, and behold, a flame went up from the earth like the vapour of a furnace.
And it came to pass, when the Lord wiped out all the cities of the surrounding country, that God remembered Abraam, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when the Lord overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
And Lot went up out of Segor and settled in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to dwell in Segor. And he dwelt in the cave, he and his two daughters with him.
So they gave their father wine to drink that night, and the elder went in and lay with her father that night; and he did not know when she lay down or when she rose.
And it came to pass on the next day that the elder said to the younger, Behold, yesterday I lay with our father; let us give him wine to drink this night also, and go in and lie with him, and raise up offspring from our father.
So that night also they gave their father wine to drink, and the younger went in and lay with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or when she rose.
