📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

64:1
as wax melts before fire. And fire shall burn up the adversaries, and the name of the Lord shall be made manifest among the adversaries; nations shall be troubled before your face.
When you do glorious things, trembling shall take hold of the mountains from before you.
From of old we have not heard, nor have our eyes seen any God besides you, nor your works which you will do for those who wait for mercy.
For mercy shall meet those who do what is right, and they shall remember your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned; because of this we went astray.
And we all became as unclean; all our righteousness is as a filthy rag; and we have fallen away like leaves because of our lawless deeds, and so the wind will carry us off.
And there is no one who calls upon your name, or who remembers to take hold of you; for you have turned your face away from us and handed us over because of our sins.
And now, O Lord, you are our Father; and we are all clay, the work of your hands.
Do not be exceedingly angry with us, and do not remember our sins continually; and now look upon us, for we are all your people.
The city of your sanctuary has become a wilderness; Sion has become as a wilderness, Jerusalem a curse.
Our holy house, and the glory which our fathers blessed, has been burned with fire, and all our glorious things have fallen together.
And in spite of all these things you have restrained yourself, O Lord, and kept silent, and humbled us exceedingly.
