📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

55:1
You who are thirsty, go to water; and as many of you as have no silver, go, buy and drink without silver and without price, wine and fat.
Why do you price things at silver, and your labor is not for satisfaction? Listen to me, and you shall eat good things, and your soul shall delight in good things.
Give heed with your ears and follow after my ways; listen to me, and your soul shall live in good things. And I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the faithful holy things of Dauid.
Behold, I have given him as a testimony among the nations, a ruler and one who gives commands to nations.
Nations that did not know you shall call upon you, and peoples that do not know you shall take refuge with you, for the sake of your God, the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
Seek God, and when you find him call upon him; and while he is drawing near to you,
let the impious forsake his ways and the lawless man his counsels, and let him turn back to the Lord, and he shall be shown mercy; for he will abundantly forgive your sins.
For my counsels are not like your counsels, nor are your ways like my ways, says the Lord.
But as the heaven is far from the earth, so is my way far from your ways, and your thoughts from my mind.
For just as rain or snow comes down from heaven and does not return until it has saturated the earth and it brings forth and sprouts and gives seed to the sower and bread for food,
雨雪怎樣從天而降,並不返回,卻滋潤大地,使地生產萌芽,賜種子給撒種的,賜糧食給人吃;
55:11
so shall my word be, whatever goes out of my mouth: it shall not return until all that I willed has been accomplished; and I will make your ways and my commandments prosper.
For you shall go out with gladness, and in joy you shall be taught; for the mountains and the hills shall leap out, welcoming you with joy, and all the trees of the field shall clap with their branches.
And instead of the brier a cypress shall come up, and instead of the fleabane a myrtle shall come up; and the Lord shall be for a name and for an everlasting sign, and it shall not fail.
