📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

25:1
O Lord my God, I will glorify you, I will sing praise to your name, for you have done wonderful things, an ancient and true counsel. So be it, O Lord!
For you have made cities into a heap of earth, fortified cities so that their foundations fall; the city of the impious shall never be rebuilt.
Therefore the poor people shall bless you, and cities of people who are wronged shall bless you.
For you became a helper to every lowly city, and a shelter to those disheartened through want; you will rescue them from evil people. You are a shelter for the thirsty and a breath for people who are wronged.
They shall bless you as faint-hearted people who thirst in Sion, delivered from the impious people to whom you handed us over.
And the Lord Sabaoth will act for all the nations on this mountain: they shall drink gladness, they shall drink wine, they shall anoint themselves with perfume.
On this mountain, hand over all these things to the nations, for this counsel is upon all the nations.
Death, having prevailed, swallowed up; and again God took away every tear from every face; he took away the reproach of the people from all the earth, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
And they shall say in that day: Behold, this is our God, in whom we hoped and exulted; and we shall rejoice in our salvation.
For God will give rest upon this mountain, and the land of Moab shall be trampled down, just as they tread a threshing floor with wagons.
And he will let loose his hands, just as he himself humbled others in order to destroy; and he will bring low his arrogance, together with the things upon which he laid his hands.
And he will bring low the height of the refuge of your wall, and it shall come down to the ground.
