📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

Hear these things, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and who came out of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord God of Israel, making mention of him neither in truth nor in righteousness;
And I declared it to you long ago; before it came upon you I made you hear it, lest you say, My idols did it, and lest you say, The carved and the molten images commanded me.
You have heard all these things, yet you did not know. But I also made you hear new things from now on, which are about to happen, and you did not say so.
You neither knew nor understood, nor from the beginning did I open your ears; for I knew that in dealing treacherously you would deal treacherously, and that you would be called lawless even from the womb.
And all shall be gathered and shall hear: who announced these things to them? Loving you, I have done your will upon Babylon, to take away the seed of the Chaldeans.
Draw near to me and hear these things: from the beginning I did not speak in secret, nor in a dark place of the earth; when it came to be, I was there. And now the Lord has sent me, and his Spirit.
and your seed would have become like the sand, and the offspring of your belly like the dust of the earth. Not even now shall you be utterly destroyed, nor shall your name perish before me.
Go out from Babylon, fleeing from the Chaldeans; declare with a voice of gladness, and let this be made heard; proclaim it to the end of the earth; say: The Lord has delivered his servant Jacob.
And if they thirst, he will lead them through a desert; he will bring forth water for them out of a rock; a rock shall be split and water shall flow, and my people shall drink.
他們若渴了,他必領他們經過曠野;他必為他們從磐石中使水流出;磐石必裂開,水必湧流,我的百姓必得喝。

οὐκἔστινχαίρειντοῖςἀσεβέσινλέγεικύριος
There is no rejoicing for the ungodly, says the Lord.
