ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

33:1
Woe to those who make you wretched! Yet no one makes you wretched, and the one who deals treacherously with you does not deal treacherously. Those who deal treacherously shall be caught and handed over, and like a moth on a garment, so shall they be defeated.
Lord, have mercy on us, for in you we have trusted. The seed of the disobedient has come to destruction, but our salvation is in a time of affliction.
At the sound of your terror peoples were amazed; from fear of you the nations were scattered.
But now your spoils shall be gathered, of small and great; just as when someone gathers locusts, so they will mock you.
Holy is the God who dwells on high. Zion has been filled with judgment and righteousness.
They shall be handed over by law. Our salvation is in treasuries; there are wisdom and knowledge and piety toward the Lord — these are treasuries of righteousness.
Behold now, in your fear they themselves shall be afraid; those whom you feared shall be afraid of you. For messengers shall be sent asking for peace, weeping bitterly, begging for peace.
For the roads of these shall be made desolate; the fear of the nations has ceased, and the covenant with them is taken away, and you shall not reckon them as men.
The land mourned; Lebanon was put to shame; Saron became marshes; Galilee and Carmel shall be laid bare.
Now I will rise up, says the Lord; now I will be glorified; now I will be exalted.
Now you shall see; now you shall perceive. The strength of your spirit shall be vain; fire shall devour you.
And nations shall be burned up, like a thorn cast out in a field and burned up.
Those far off shall hear what I have done; those who draw near shall know my strength.
The lawless in Zion have withdrawn; trembling shall seize the impious. Who will announce to you that a fire is burning? Who will announce to you the eternal place?
One who walks in righteousness, speaks a straight way, hates lawlessness and injustice, and shakes his hands free from bribes, stopping his ears so as not to hear a judgment of blood, shutting his eyes so as not to see injustice —
— this one shall dwell in a high cave of a strong rock; bread shall be given to him, and his water shall be sure.
You shall see a king with glory, and your eyes shall see a land from afar.
Your soul shall ponder fear: Where are the scribes? Where are the counselors? Where is the one who counts those being reared?
a small and great people, with whom they did not take counsel, nor did he know one of deep speech, so as not to hear — a despised people, and there is no understanding for the one who hears.
Behold Zion, the city of our salvation! Your eyes shall see Jerusalem, a rich city, tents that shall not be shaken, nor shall the pegs of her tent be moved for all time, nor shall her cords be torn apart.
For the name of the Lord is great to you. A place shall be for you: rivers and canals, broad and spacious. You shall not travel this way, nor shall a rowed ship travel there.
For my God is great; the Lord will not pass me by. The Lord is our judge, the Lord our ruler, the Lord our king; the Lord — he will save us.
Your cords have been torn, for your mast did not hold; it leaned over. It will not lower the sails; it will not raise a signal until it is given over as plunder. Therefore many lame men shall take plunder.
And the people dwelling among them shall not say, 'I am weary,' for their sin has been forgiven them.
