ἐγένετοδὲἡζωὴΣαρραςἔτηἑκατὸνεἴκοσιἑπτά
And the life of Sarra was a hundred twenty-seven years.
And Sarra died in the city of Arbok, which is in the valley; this is Chebron in the land of Chanaan. And Abraham came to beat his breast for Sarra and to mourn.
Not so, lord; but hear us: you are a king from God among us. Bury your dead in our choicest tombs, for none of us will withhold his tomb from you, that you should not bury your dead there.
And Abraham spoke to them, saying, If you have it in your soul that I should bury my dead from before my face, hear me and speak for me to Ephron the son of Saar,
and let him give me the double cave which is his, which is in a part of his field; for its worthy price in silver let him give it to me among you for a burial possession.
Now Ephron was sitting in the midst of the sons of Chet; and Ephron the Chettite answered Abraham and spoke in the hearing of the sons of Chet and of all who entered the city, saying,
Be with me, lord, and hear me: the field and the cave that is in it, I give to you; before all my fellow citizens I have given it to you; bury your dead.
and he said to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, Since you are on my side, hear me: take the silver for the field from me, and I will bury my dead there.
And Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham paid over to Ephron the silver which he had spoken of in the hearing of the sons of Chet, four hundred didrachmas of silver approved among merchants.
So the field of Ephron, which was at the double cave, which is opposite Mambre, the field and the cave that was in it, and every tree that was in the field, which is within its borders round about, was established
