ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And when the days of mourning had passed, Joseph spoke to the magnates of Pharaoh, saying, If I have found favour before you, speak concerning me in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
My father made me swear, saying, In the tomb which I dug for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me. So now let me go up and bury my father, and I will come back.
And Joseph went up to bury his father, and all the servants of Pharaoh went up with him, and the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt;
and all the household of Joseph and his brothers and all his father's house; and they left behind the kindred and the sheep and the oxen in the land of Gesem.
And they came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and they lamented him with a great and exceedingly strong lamentation; and he made mourning for his father seven days.
And the inhabitants of the land of Canaan saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad and said, This is a great mourning for the Egyptians. Therefore he called its name Mourning of Egypt, which is beyond the Jordan.
And his sons carried him up into the land of Canaan and buried him in the double cave, the cave which Abraham bought as a burial possession from Ephron the Hittite, opposite Mambre.
And when Joseph's brothers saw that their father had died, they said, Perhaps Joseph will bear a grudge against us and repay us in full for all the evils that we displayed toward him.
Thus you shall say to Joseph, Forgive them their injustice and their sin, because they displayed evil things to you. And now accept the injustice of the servants of the God of your father. And Joseph wept while they were speaking to him.
And Joseph said to his brothers, saying, I am dying, but God will surely visit you and will bring you up out of this land into the land which God swore to our fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.
And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, At the visitation with which God will visit you, you shall also carry up my bones from here with you.
