Since, therefore, many of the barbarians and provincials of Sardinia are said, with God's favor, most devoutly to hasten to the Christian faith, let your greatness fittingly lend its zeal in this cause, and studiously concur with Victor, our brother and fellow-bishop, in converting and baptizing them; to the end that, when the souls of many shall have been delivered from ruin through the grace of baptism, you giving your support, you may both have praise among men, and be able to acquire before the almighty Lord—which is above all to be striven for—a great reward;
