ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

And there are some who shrink back from humility alone, lest they be set above those to whom they esteem themselves unequal. Whose humility, indeed, if it is also girded about with the other virtues, is then true before the eyes of God, when it is not obstinate in refusing that which it is profitably commanded to undertake. For neither is he truly humble who understands that the decision of the supernal will is that he ought to preside, and yet scorns to preside. But being subject to the divine dispositions, and a stranger to the vice of obstinacy, when the summit of governance is commanded him, if he is already forestalled with gifts whereby he may profit others also, he ought both from the heart to flee it, and unwillingly to obey.
