And all the congregation of the sons of Israel set out from the wilderness of Sin by their encampments, according to the word of the Lord; and they camped in Raphidin, but there was no water for the people to drink.
And the people thirsted there for water, and the people murmured there against Moses, saying, Why is it that you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?
And the Lord said to Moses, Go on before this people, and take with you some of the elders of the people; and the rod with which you struck the river, take in your hand and go.
Behold, I stand there before you upon the rock in Choreb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, and my people shall drink. And Moses did so before the sons of Israel.
And he called the name of that place Testing and Reviling, because of the reviling of the sons of Israel, and because they tested the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us or not?
17:8
ἦλθενδὲΑμαληκκαὶἐπολέμειΙσραηλἐνΡαφιδιν
那時亞瑪力人來到，在利非訂與以色列爭戰。
Then Amalek came and made war on Israel in Raphidin.
And Moses said to Joshua, Choose for yourself mighty men, and go out and draw up in battle against Amalek tomorrow; and behold, I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.
And Joshua did just as Moses said to him, and he went out and drew up in battle against Amalek; and Moses and Aaron and Hor went up to the top of the hill.
But Moses' hands were heavy, and they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it; and Aaron and Hor held up his hands, one on this side and one on that side; and Moses' hands were held steady until the setting of the sun.
And the Lord said to Moses, Write this in a book for a memorial, and put it in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.
