15:1
ὀργὴ ἀπόλλυσιν καὶ φρονίμους ἀπόκρισις δὲ ὑποπίπτουσα ἀποστρέφει θυμόν λόγος δὲ λυπηρὸς ἐγείρει ὀργάς
忿怒連明哲人也能毀滅,謙卑的回答卻能消除烈怒,傷人的話卻挑起忿怒。
Anger destroys even the sensible, but a submissive answer turns away wrath, while a hurtful word stirs up angers.
15:2
γλῶσσα σοφῶν καλὰ ἐπίσταται στόμα δὲ ἀφρόνων ἀναγγελεῖ κακά
智慧人的舌頭曉得美善的事,愚昧人的口卻宣揚惡事。
The tongue of the wise knows good things, but the mouth of fools will proclaim evils.
15:3
ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου σκοπεύουσιν κακούς τε καὶ ἀγαθούς
主的眼目在各處鑒察惡人和善人。
In every place the eyes of the Lord watch both the evil and the good.
15:4
ἴασις γλώσσης δένδρον ζωῆς ὁ δὲ συντηρῶν αὐτὴν πλησθήσεται πνεύματος
舌頭的醫治是生命樹,謹守舌頭的必被靈充滿。
The healing of the tongue is a tree of life, and he who keeps watch over it will be filled with spirit.
15:5
ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει παιδείαν πατρός ὁ δὲ φυλάσσων ἐντολὰς πανουργότερος
愚昧人譏諷父親的管教,謹守誡命的卻更加精明。
A fool sneers at his father's instruction, but he who keeps commandments is the more shrewd.
15:6
ἐν πλεοναζούσῃ δικαιοσύνῃ ἰσχὺς πολλή οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ὁλόρριζοι ἐκ γῆς ὀλοῦνται οἴκοις δικαίων ἰσχὺς πολλή καρποὶ δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀπολοῦνται
公義增多的地方就有大能力,不敬虔的人卻要連根從地上滅亡。義人的家有大能力,不敬虔之人的果子卻要滅亡。
Where righteousness abounds there is great strength, but the impious will perish root and all from the earth. In the houses of the righteous there is great strength, but the fruits of the impious will perish.
15:7
χείλη σοφῶν δέδεται αἰσθήσει καρδίαι δὲ ἀφρόνων οὐκ ἀσφαλεῖς
智慧人的嘴唇被知覺所約束,愚昧人的心卻不穩妥。
The lips of the wise are bound by perception, but the hearts of fools are not secure.
15:8
θυσίαι ἀσεβῶν βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ εὐχαὶ δὲ κατευθυνόντων δεκταὶ παρ’ αὐτῷ
不敬虔之人的祭物是主所憎惡的,行事正直之人的禱告卻蒙他悅納。
The sacrifices of the impious are an abomination to the Lord, but the prayers of those who walk straight are acceptable to him.
15:9
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ ὁδοὶ ἀσεβοῦς διώκοντας δὲ δικαιοσύνην ἀγαπᾷ
不敬虔之人的道路是主所憎惡的,追求公義的人卻蒙他喜愛。
The ways of the impious are an abomination to the Lord, but he loves those who pursue righteousness.
15:10
παιδεία ἀκάκου γνωρίζεται ὑπὸ τῶν παριόντων οἱ δὲ μισοῦντες ἐλέγχους τελευτῶσιν αἰσχρῶς
純真之人所受的管教,連過路的人都認得出來;恨惡責備的人卻要可恥地死去。
The instruction of the innocent is recognised by passers-by, but those who hate reproofs die shamefully.
15:11
ᾅδης καὶ ἀπώλεια φανερὰ παρὰ τῷ κυρίῳ πῶς οὐχὶ καὶ αἱ καρδίαι τῶν ἀνθρώπων
陰間和滅亡在主面前是顯明的,何況世人的心呢?
Hades and destruction are manifest before the Lord; how much more the hearts of people!
15:12
οὐκ ἀγαπήσει ἀπαίδευτος τοὺς ἐλέγχοντας αὐτόν μετὰ δὲ σοφῶν οὐχ ὁμιλήσει
未受管教的人不喜愛責備他的人,也不與智慧人來往。
An undisciplined person will not love those who reprove him, nor will he associate with the wise.
15:13
καρδίας εὐφραινομένης πρόσωπον θάλλει ἐν δὲ λύπαις οὔσης σκυθρωπάζει
心中歡喜,面容就煥發;心中憂愁,面容就陰沉。
When the heart rejoices, the face blooms; but when it is in sorrows, the face is gloomy.
15:14
καρδία ὀρθὴ ζητεῖ αἴσθησιν στόμα δὲ ἀπαιδεύτων γνώσεται κακά
正直的心尋求知覺,未受管教之人的口卻要認識惡事。
An upright heart seeks perception, but the mouth of the undisciplined will know evils.
15:15
πάντα τὸν χρόνον οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τῶν κακῶν προσδέχονται κακά οἱ δὲ ἀγαθοὶ ἡσυχάζουσιν διὰ παντός
惡人的眼目時時都在等候禍患,善人卻常常安靜。
All the time the eyes of the wicked look for evils, but the good are at rest continually.
15:16
κρείσσων μικρὰ μερὶς μετὰ φόβου κυρίου ἢ θησαυροὶ μεγάλοι μετὰ ἀφοβίας
少許的分而帶著敬畏主的心,勝過大量的財寶而無所敬畏。
Better a small portion with the fear of the Lord than great treasures without fear.
15:17
κρείσσων ξενισμὸς λαχάνων πρὸς φιλίαν καὶ χάριν ἢ παράθεσις μόσχων μετὰ ἔχθρας
用菜蔬款待而有友愛與恩慈,勝過擺上牛犢卻帶著仇恨。
Better a meal of vegetables offered in friendship and kindness than a serving of calves with enmity.
15:18
ἀνὴρ θυμώδης παρασκευάζει μάχας μακρόθυμος δὲ καὶ τὴν μέλλουσαν καταπραΰνει μακρόθυμος ἀνὴρ κατασβέσει κρίσεις ὁ δὲ ἀσεβὴς ἐγείρει μᾶλλον
暴怒的人挑起爭鬥,恆忍的人卻平息那將要發生的爭鬥。恆忍的人必熄滅爭訟,不敬虔的人卻更加挑起爭訟。
A hot-tempered man stirs up fights, but the patient man calms even the one that is coming. A patient man will quench quarrels, but the ungodly stirs them up all the more.
15:19
ὁδοὶ ἀεργῶν ἐστρωμέναι ἀκάνθαις αἱ δὲ τῶν ἀνδρείων τετριμμέναι
懶惰人的道路鋪滿荊棘,勇壯人的道路卻是平坦好走的。
The ways of the idle are strewn with thorns, but those of the vigorous are well-trodden.
15:20
υἱὸς σοφὸς εὐφραίνει πατέρα υἱὸς δὲ ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει μητέρα αὐτοῦ
智慧的兒子使父親歡喜,愚昧的兒子卻嗤笑自己的母親。
A wise son gladdens his father, but a foolish son sneers at his mother.
15:21
ἀνοήτου τρίβοι ἐνδεεῖς φρενῶν ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος κατευθύνων πορεύεται
無知人的路徑缺乏心思,通達人卻是走得正直。
The paths of the senseless lack understanding, but a prudent man walks straight on.
15:22
ὑπερτίθενται λογισμοὺς οἱ μὴ τιμῶντες συνέδρια ἐν δὲ καρδίαις βουλευομένων μένει βουλή
不看重議會的人,他們的謀算必被擱置;眾人商議時,計謀卻存留在心中。
Those who do not honor councils have their plans put off, but counsel abides in the hearts of those who deliberate.
15:23
οὐ μὴ ὑπακούσῃ ὁ κακὸς αὐτῇ οὐδὲ μὴ εἴπῃ καίριόν τι καὶ καλὸν τῷ κοινῷ
惡人必不聽從這計謀,也絕不說出合時而對公眾有益的話。
The evil man will not listen to it, nor will he say anything timely and good for the common welfare.
15:24
ὁδοὶ ζωῆς διανοήματα συνετοῦ ἵνα ἐκκλίνας ἐκ τοῦ ᾅδου σωθῇ
聰明人的思念是生命的道路,使他偏離陰間而得救。
The thoughts of the understanding are ways of life, that he may turn aside from Hades and be saved.
15:25
οἴκους ὑβριστῶν κατασπᾷ κύριος ἐστήρισεν δὲ ὅριον χήρας
主拆毀狂傲人的房屋,卻堅立寡婦的地界。
The Lord pulls down the houses of the insolent, but he has established the widow's boundary.
15:26
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ λογισμὸς ἄδικος ἁγνῶν δὲ ῥήσεις σεμναί
不義的謀算為主所憎惡,純潔人的言語卻是莊重的。
An unjust thought is an abomination to the Lord, but the sayings of the pure are honorable.
15:27
ἐξόλλυσιν ἑαυτὸν ὁ δωρολήμπτης ὁ δὲ μισῶν δώρων λήμψεις σῴζεται ἐλεημοσύναις καὶ πίστεσιν ἀποκαθαίρονται ἁμαρτίαι τῷ δὲ φόβῳ κυρίου ἐκκλίνει πᾶς ἀπὸ κακοῦ
收受賄賂的人毀滅自己,恨惡收受禮物的人卻得保全。罪過藉著憐憫與信實得潔淨,人人都因敬畏主而遠離惡事。
The bribe-taker destroys himself, but he who hates the taking of gifts is saved. By acts of mercy and by faithfulness sins are cleansed away, and by the fear of the Lord everyone turns aside from evil.
15:28
καρδίαι δικαίων μελετῶσιν πίστεις στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀποκρίνεται κακά δεκταὶ παρὰ κυρίῳ ὁδοὶ ἀνθρώπων δικαίων διὰ δὲ αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐχθροὶ φίλοι γίνονται
義人的心思想信實的事,不敬虔之人的口卻回答惡言。義人的道路為主所悅納,仇敵也因這些道路成為朋友。
The hearts of the righteous meditate on faithfulness, but the mouth of the ungodly answers with evils. The ways of righteous men are acceptable to the Lord, and through them even enemies become friends.
15:29
μακρὰν ἀπέχει ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ ἀσεβῶν εὐχαῖς δὲ δικαίων ἐπακούει κρείσσων ὀλίγη λῆμψις μετὰ δικαιοσύνης ἢ πολλὰ γενήματα μετὰ ἀδικίας καρδία ἀνδρὸς λογιζέσθω δίκαια ἵνα ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ διορθωθῇ τὰ διαβήματα αὐτοῦ
神遠離不敬虔的人,卻垂聽義人的祈求。所得雖少而有公義,勝過出產豐盛卻帶著不義。人心當思想公義的事,好使他的腳步被神修直。
God keeps far from the ungodly, but he listens to the prayers of the righteous. Better a small income with righteousness than large yields with injustice. Let a man's heart reckon righteous things, so that his steps may be set straight by God.
15:30
θεωρῶν ὀφθαλμὸς καλὰ εὐφραίνει καρδίαν φήμη δὲ ἀγαθὴ πιαίνει ὀστᾶ
眼睛看見美好的事使心歡喜,好消息滋潤骨頭。
An eye that beholds good things gladdens the heart, and a good report fattens the bones.
15:32
ὃς ἀπωθεῖται παιδείαν μισεῖ ἑαυτόν ὁ δὲ τηρῶν ἐλέγχους ἀγαπᾷ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ
棄絕管教的人恨惡自己,領受責備的人卻愛惜自己的性命。
He who rejects instruction hates himself, but he who keeps reproofs loves his own soul.
15:33
φόβος θεοῦ παιδεία καὶ σοφία καὶ ἀρχὴ δόξης ἀποκριθήσεται αὐτῇ
敬畏神就是管教與智慧,榮耀的起頭也必與它相應。
The fear of God is instruction and wisdom, and the beginning of glory will answer to it.
