And these are the commandments and the ordinances and the judgments, as many as the Lord our God commanded to teach you to do so in the land into which you are entering there to inherit it,
that you may fear the Lord your God, keeping all his ordinances and his commandments which I command you today, you and your sons and your sons' sons, all the days of your life, that you may be long-lived.
And hear, Israel, and observe to do, that it may be well with you and that you may multiply greatly, just as the Lord the God of your fathers spoke, to give you a land flowing with milk and honey.
And these are the ordinances and the judgments which the Lord commanded the sons of Israel in the wilderness, after they had come out of the land of Egypt. Hear, Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord.
And you shall impress them upon your sons, and you shall speak of them when sitting in the house and when walking on the road and when lying down and when rising up.
And it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraam and Isaak and Iakob, to give you cities great and good which you did not build,
houses full of all good things which you did not fill, hewn cisterns which you did not hew out, vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant; and when you have eaten and been filled,
for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you, lest the Lord your God, being provoked, be enraged with you and destroy you from the face of the earth.
And you shall do what is pleasing and good before the Lord your God, that it may be well with you and that you may enter and inherit the good land which the Lord swore to your fathers,
And it shall be, when your son asks you tomorrow, saying, What are the testimonies and the ordinances and the judgments which the Lord our God commanded us?
then you shall say to your son, We were household slaves to Pharao in the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought us out from there with a mighty hand and with an uplifted arm.
And the Lord commanded us to do all these ordinances, to fear the Lord our God, that it may be well with us all the days, that we may live, just as also today.
