And this is the ordinance of the release: you shall release every private debt that your neighbor owes you, and you shall not demand it from your brother, because it has been proclaimed a release to the Lord your God.
For there shall be no one in need among you, because the Lord your God will greatly bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you by lot to take possession of it.
For the Lord your God has blessed you, just as he said to you; and you shall lend to many nations, but you yourself shall not borrow; and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
But if there is among you a needy one of your brothers in one of your cities in the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shall you close tight your hand against your needy brother.
Take heed to yourself that there be no hidden word in your heart, a lawless thing, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is near — and your eye be evil toward your needy brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry out against you to the Lord, and there be great sin in you.
You shall surely give to him, and you shall surely lend him a loan, as much as he lacks, and you shall not be grieved in your heart when you give to him; for because of this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in everything on which you lay your hand.
For the needy shall never cease from the land; therefore I command you to do this thing, saying, You shall surely open your hands to your brother who is poor and needy in your land.
And if your brother, the Hebrew man or the Hebrew woman, is sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall send him away free from you.
You shall generously provide him with supplies from your flock and from your grain and from your winepress; as the Lord your God has blessed you, so you shall give to him.
And you shall remember that you were a household slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing.
then you shall take the awl and pierce his ear against the door, and he shall be your household slave forever; and to your female servant you shall do likewise.
It shall not seem hard to you when they are sent away free from you, because he served you six years at the yearly wage of a hired worker; and the Lord your God will bless you in everything that you do.
Every firstborn male that is born among your oxen and among your sheep you shall consecrate to the Lord your God; you shall not work with your firstborn calf, and you shall not shear the firstborn of your sheep.
