ἀφροσύνη ἀνδρὸς λυμαίνεται τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ τὸν δὲ θεὸν αἰτιᾶται τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ
A man's folly ruins his ways, but in his heart he blames God.
人的愚妄敗壞自己的道路,他心裡卻埋怨神。
19:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
πλοῦτος προστίθησιν φίλους πολλούς ὁ δὲ πτωχὸς καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὑπάρχοντος φίλου λείπεται
Wealth adds many friends, but the poor man is left even by the friend he has.
財富增添許多朋友,窮人卻連僅有的朋友也失去。
19:5▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μάρτυς ψευδὴς οὐκ ἀτιμώρητος ἔσται ὁ δὲ ἐγκαλῶν ἀδίκως οὐ διαφεύξεται
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who accuses unjustly will not escape.
作假見證的必不免受罰,不義控告人的也必逃脫不了。

πολλοὶ θεραπεύουσιν πρόσωπα βασιλέων πᾶς δὲ ὁ κακὸς γίνεται ὄνειδος ἀνδρί
Many court the faces of kings, but every evil man becomes a reproach to a man.
許多人奉承君王的臉面,惡人卻成為別人的羞辱。

πᾶς ὃς ἀδελφὸν πτωχὸν μισεῖ καὶ φιλίας μακρὰν ἔσται ἔννοια ἀγαθὴ τοῖς εἰδόσιν αὐτὴν ἐγγιεῖ ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος εὑρήσει αὐτήν ὁ πολλὰ κακοποιῶν τελεσιουργεῖ κακίαν ὃς δὲ ἐρεθίζει λόγους οὐ σωθήσεται
Everyone who hates a poor brother will also be far from friendship. Good insight draws near to those who know it, and a prudent man will find it. He who does much harm brings wickedness to completion, and he who provokes with words will not be saved.
凡恨惡貧窮弟兄的,也必遠離友愛。良善的智思親近認識它的人,通達的人必尋見它。多行惡事的人使惡貫滿盈,挑起口舌爭端的必不得拯救。

ὁ κτώμενος φρόνησιν ἀγαπᾷ ἑαυτόν ὃς δὲ φυλάσσει φρόνησιν εὑρήσει ἀγαθά
He who acquires understanding loves himself, and he who guards understanding will find good things.
得著聰明的人愛惜自己,謹守聰明的必尋得美善。
19:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μάρτυς ψευδὴς οὐκ ἀτιμώρητος ἔσται ὃς δ’ ἂν ἐκκαύσῃ κακίαν ἀπολεῖται ὑπ’ αὐτῆς
A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever kindles wickedness will be destroyed by it.
作假見證的必不免受罰,點燃惡毒的人必被它毀滅。
19:10▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οὐ συμφέρει ἄφρονι τρυφή καὶ ἐὰν οἰκέτης ἄρξηται μεθ’ ὕβρεως δυναστεύειν
Luxury is not fitting for a fool, nor if a household servant begins to rule with insolence.
奢華對愚昧人沒有益處,僕人狂傲掌權也是如此。

ἐλεήμων ἀνὴρ μακροθυμεῖ τὸ δὲ καύχημα αὐτοῦ ἐπέρχεται παρανόμοις
A merciful man is patient, and his boasting comes upon transgressors.
憐憫人的恆久忍耐,他的誇耀臨到不法之人。

βασιλέως ἀπειλὴ ὁμοία βρυγμῷ λέοντος ὥσπερ δὲ δρόσος ἐπὶ χόρτῳ οὕτως τὸ ἱλαρὸν αὐτοῦ
A king's threat is like the roar of a lion, but his cheerfulness is like dew on the grass.
王的威嚇如同獅子的咆哮,他的喜悅卻如草上的甘露。

αἰσχύνη πατρὶ υἱὸς ἄφρων καὶ οὐχ ἁγναὶ εὐχαὶ ἀπὸ μισθώματος ἑταίρας
A foolish son is shame to his father, and vows paid from a harlot's hire are not pure.
愚昧的兒子使父親蒙羞,妓女工價所還的願也不潔淨。
19:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οἶκον καὶ ὕπαρξιν μερίζουσιν πατέρες παισίν παρὰ δὲ θεοῦ ἁρμόζεται γυνὴ ἀνδρί
Fathers apportion house and property to their children, but a wife is fitted to a man by God.
房屋和財產是父親分給兒女的,妻子卻是神為丈夫配合的。

δειλία κατέχει ἀνδρογύναιον ψυχὴ δὲ ἀεργοῦ πεινάσει
Cowardice grips the effeminate, and the soul of the idle will go hungry.
膽怯抓住柔弱的人,懶惰人的魂必飢餓。
19:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὃς φυλάσσει ἐντολήν τηρεῖ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ψυχήν ὁ δὲ καταφρονῶν τῶν ἑαυτοῦ ὁδῶν ἀπολεῖται
He who keeps a commandment preserves his own soul, but he who despises his own ways will perish.
謹守誡命的,保全自己的性命;輕忽自己道路的,必然滅亡。
19:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
δανίζει θεῷ ὁ ἐλεῶν πτωχόν κατὰ δὲ τὸ δόμα αὐτοῦ ἀνταποδώσει αὐτῷ
He who shows mercy to the poor lends to God, and he will repay him according to his gift.
憐憫窮人的,就是借給神;神必按他所給的償還他。
19:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
παίδευε υἱόν σου οὕτως γὰρ ἔσται εὔελπις εἰς δὲ ὕβριν μὴ ἐπαίρου τῇ ψυχῇ σου
Discipline your son, for so he will be full of hope; and do not lift up your soul to insolence.
要管教你的兒子,這樣他就滿有指望;也不可在心裡高抬自己至於狂傲。
19:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
κακόφρων ἀνὴρ πολλὰ ζημιωθήσεται ἐὰν δὲ λοιμεύηται καὶ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ προσθήσει
A malicious man will suffer much loss, and if he behaves like a plague, he will forfeit his soul as well.
存惡念的人必多受虧損;他若行事如瘟疫,連自己的性命也要賠上。
19:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἄκουε υἱέ παιδείαν πατρός σου ἵνα σοφὸς γένῃ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων σου
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction, that you may become wise at your latter end.
我兒,要聽你父親的管教,使你在末後成為有智慧的。
19:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
πολλοὶ λογισμοὶ ἐν καρδίᾳ ἀνδρός ἡ δὲ βουλὴ τοῦ κυρίου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα μένει
Many are the thoughts in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord abides forever.
人心裡多有謀算,惟有主的旨意永遠存立。
19:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καρπὸς ἀνδρὶ ἐλεημοσύνη κρείσσων δὲ πτωχὸς δίκαιος ἢ πλούσιος ψεύστης
Mercy is fruit for a man, and a poor righteous man is better than a rich liar.
憐憫是人的果子;貧窮的義人勝過富足的說謊者。
19:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
φόβος κυρίου εἰς ζωὴν ἀνδρί ὁ δὲ ἄφοβος αὐλισθήσεται ἐν τόποις οὗ οὐκ ἐπισκοπεῖται γνῶσις
The fear of the Lord is unto life for a man, but the fearless will lodge in places where knowledge is not watched over.
敬畏主使人得生命,無所敬畏的人卻住在無人看顧知識的地方。
19:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ ἐγκρύπτων εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ χεῖρας ἀδίκως οὐδὲ τῷ στόματι οὐ μὴ προσαγάγῃ αὐτάς
He who unjustly hides his hands in his bosom will not even bring them to his mouth.
不義地把雙手藏在懷裡的人,連送到自己口邊也不肯。
19:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
λοιμοῦ μαστιγουμένου ἄφρων πανουργότερος γίνεται ἐὰν δὲ ἐλέγχῃς ἄνδρα φρόνιμον νοήσει αἴσθησιν
When a pestilent man is flogged, the fool becomes more shrewd; but if you reprove a prudent man, he will understand perception.
瘟疫般的人受鞭打,愚昧人就變得精明些;你若責備通達人,他就明白知覺。
19:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ ἀτιμάζων πατέρα καὶ ἀπωθούμενος μητέρα αὐτοῦ καταισχυνθήσεται καὶ ἐπονείδιστος ἔσται
He who dishonors his father and drives away his mother will be put to shame and will be open to reproach.
羞辱父親、趕逐母親的,必蒙羞愧,也必被人責備。
19:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
υἱὸς ἀπολειπόμενος φυλάξαι παιδείαν πατρὸς μελετήσει ῥήσεις κακάς
A son who fails to keep his father's instruction will meditate on evil sayings.
兒子若不謹守父親的管教,就必思想惡言。
19:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ ἐγγυώμενος παῖδα ἄφρονα καθυβρίζει δικαίωμα στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν καταπίεται κρίσεις
He who goes surety for a foolish child outrages what is right, and the mouth of the ungodly swallows up judgments.
為愚昧的孩子作保的,就是侮慢公義的判例;不敬虔之人的口吞滅公正。
19:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἑτοιμάζονται ἀκολάστοις μάστιγες καὶ τιμωρίαι ὤμοις ἀφρόνων
Whips are prepared for the unruly, and punishments for the shoulders of fools.
鞭子是為放蕩的人預備的,刑罰是為愚昧人的肩背預備的。
