10:1
υἱὸς σοφὸς εὐφραίνει πατέρα υἱὸς δὲ ἄφρων λύπη τῇ μητρί
A wise son gladdens a father, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
智慧之子使父親歡喜,愚昧之子是母親的憂愁。
10:2
οὐκ ὠφελήσουσιν θησαυροὶ ἀνόμους δικαιοσύνη δὲ ῥύσεται ἐκ θανάτου
Treasures will not profit the lawless, but righteousness will deliver from death.
財寶對不法的人毫無益處,公義卻能救人脫離死亡。
10:3
οὐ λιμοκτονήσει κύριος ψυχὴν δικαίαν ζωὴν δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀνατρέψει
The Lord will not let a righteous soul die of hunger, but he will overturn the life of the impious.
主必不使義人的魂餓死,卻要傾覆不敬虔之人的生命。
10:4
πενία ἄνδρα ταπεινοῖ χεῖρες δὲ ἀνδρείων πλουτίζουσιν υἱὸς πεπαιδευμένος σοφὸς ἔσται τῷ δὲ ἄφρονι διακόνῳ χρήσεται
Poverty humbles a man, but the hands of the diligent make rich. A son who has been instructed will be wise, and he will make use of the fool as a servant.
貧窮使人卑微,勤勇之人的手卻使人富足。受過管教的兒子必有智慧,並要用愚昧人作僕役。
10:5
διεσώθη ἀπὸ καύματος υἱὸς νοήμων ἀνεμόφθορος δὲ γίνεται ἐν ἀμήτῳ υἱὸς παράνομος
A prudent son is preserved from the burning heat, but a lawless son becomes blighted by the wind at harvest time.
明智的兒子得以脫離暑熱,不法的兒子卻在收割時被風吹壞。
10:6
εὐλογία κυρίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν δικαίου στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν καλύψει πένθος ἄωρον
The blessing of the Lord is on the head of the righteous, but untimely mourning will cover the mouth of the impious.
主的祝福臨到義人的頭上,不敬虔之人的口卻被早來的悲哀遮蓋。
10:7
μνήμη δικαίων μετ’ ἐγκωμίων ὄνομα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς σβέννυται
The memory of the righteous comes with praises, but the name of the impious is extinguished.
義人的記念帶著稱讚,不敬虔之人的名卻要熄滅。
10:8
σοφὸς καρδίᾳ δέξεται ἐντολάς ὁ δὲ ἄστεγος χείλεσιν σκολιάζων ὑποσκελισθήσεται
The wise in heart will receive commandments, but he who is unguarded in his lips and crooked in speech will be tripped up.
心裡有智慧的必接受誡命,嘴唇不設防、說話彎曲的必被絆倒。
10:9
ὃς πορεύεται ἁπλῶς πορεύεται πεποιθώς ὁ δὲ διαστρέφων τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ γνωσθήσεται
He who walks in simplicity walks confidently, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
行事純正的,行走時滿有把握;扭曲自己道路的,必被人識破。
10:10
ὁ ἐννεύων ὀφθαλμοῖς μετὰ δόλου συνάγει ἀνδράσι λύπας ὁ δὲ ἐλέγχων μετὰ παρρησίας εἰρηνοποιεῖ
He who winks with his eyes in deceit gathers griefs for people, but he who reproves openly makes peace.
用眼睛詭詐示意的,給人招聚憂愁;坦然責備的,卻促成和睦。
10:11
πηγὴ ζωῆς ἐν χειρὶ δικαίου στόμα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς καλύψει ἀπώλεια
A spring of life is in the hand of the righteous, but destruction will cover the mouth of the impious.
生命的泉源在義人手中,滅亡卻要遮蓋不敬虔之人的口。
10:12
μῖσος ἐγείρει νεῖκος πάντας δὲ τοὺς μὴ φιλονεικοῦντας καλύπτει φιλία
Hatred stirs up strife, but friendship covers all who are not contentious.
恨能挑起爭端,友愛卻遮蓋一切不愛爭競的人。
10:13
ὃς ἐκ χειλέων προφέρει σοφίαν ῥάβδῳ τύπτει ἄνδρα ἀκάρδιον
He who brings forth wisdom from his lips strikes the senseless man with a rod.
嘴唇吐出智慧的,用杖責打無心的人。
10:14
σοφοὶ κρύψουσιν αἴσθησιν στόμα δὲ προπετοῦς ἐγγίζει συντριβῇ
The wise conceal perception, but the mouth of the rash draws near to ruin.
智慧人隱藏知覺,冒失人的口卻臨近毀壞。
10:15
κτῆσις πλουσίων πόλις ὀχυρά συντριβὴ δὲ ἀσεβῶν πενία
The property of the rich is a strong city, but poverty is the ruin of the impious.
富人的產業是堅固的城,貧窮是不敬虔之人的毀壞。
10:16
ἔργα δικαίων ζωὴν ποιεῖ καρποὶ δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἁμαρτίας
The works of the righteous produce life, but the fruits of the impious are sins.
義人的工作產生生命,不敬虔之人的果子卻是罪。
10:17
ὁδοὺς δικαίας ζωῆς φυλάσσει παιδεία παιδεία δὲ ἀνεξέλεγκτος πλανᾶται
Instruction guards the righteous ways of life, but instruction that goes unexamined strays.
管教守住公義生命的道路,不受責備的管教卻走上歧途。
10:18
καλύπτουσιν ἔχθραν χείλη δίκαια οἱ δὲ ἐκφέροντες λοιδορίας ἀφρονέστατοί εἰσιν
Righteous lips cover enmity, but those who utter abuse are the greatest fools.
公義的嘴唇遮蓋仇恨,散布辱罵的卻是最愚昧的。
10:19
ἐκ πολυλογίας οὐκ ἐκφεύξῃ ἁμαρτίαν φειδόμενος δὲ χειλέων νοήμων ἔσῃ
From much talking you will not escape sin, but if you are sparing with your lips you will be prudent.
多言多語就不能躲開罪過,節制嘴唇的必是明智人。
10:20
ἄργυρος πεπυρωμένος γλῶσσα δικαίου καρδία δὲ ἀσεβοῦς ἐκλείψει
The tongue of the righteous is refined silver, but the heart of the impious will fail.
義人的舌頭是煉過的銀子,不敬虔之人的心卻要衰竭。
10:21
χείλη δικαίων ἐπίσταται ὑψηλά οἱ δὲ ἄφρονες ἐν ἐνδείᾳ τελευτῶσιν
The lips of the righteous know lofty things, but fools die in want.
義人的嘴唇懂得高超的事,愚昧人卻在缺乏中死去。
10:22
εὐλογία κυρίου ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν δικαίου αὕτη πλουτίζει καὶ οὐ μὴ προστεθῇ αὐτῇ λύπη ἐν καρδίᾳ
The blessing of the Lord is on the head of the righteous; this is what makes rich, and no grief in the heart will be added to it.
主的祝福臨到義人的頭上;這祝福使人富足,心中也絕不加添憂愁。
10:23
ἐν γέλωτι ἄφρων πράσσει κακά ἡ δὲ σοφία ἀνδρὶ τίκτει φρόνησιν
A fool does evil things amid laughter, but wisdom brings forth understanding for a man.
愚昧人以嬉笑行惡,智慧卻為人生出明哲。
10:24
ἐν ἀπωλείᾳ ἀσεβὴς περιφέρεται ἐπιθυμία δὲ δικαίου δεκτή
The impious is carried about in destruction, but the desire of the righteous is acceptable.
不敬虔的人在滅亡中被拋來拋去,義人的心願卻蒙悅納。
10:25
παραπορευομένης καταιγίδος ἀφανίζεται ἀσεβής δίκαιος δὲ ἐκκλίνας σῴζεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
When the storm passes by, the impious vanishes, but the righteous, having turned aside, is saved for ever.
暴風一經過,不敬虔的人就消滅了;義人卻因閃避而永遠得救。
10:26
ὥσπερ ὄμφαξ ὀδοῦσι βλαβερὸν καὶ καπνὸς ὄμμασιν οὕτως παρανομία τοῖς χρωμένοις αὐτήν
As an unripe grape is harmful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so is lawlessness to those who practise it.
未熟的葡萄怎樣害牙,煙怎樣薰眼,不法之事對行它的人也是如此。
10:27
φόβος κυρίου προστίθησιν ἡμέρας ἔτη δὲ ἀσεβῶν ὀλιγωθήσεται
The fear of the Lord adds days, but the years of the impious will be made few.
敬畏主使日子加增,不敬虔之人的年歲卻要減少。
10:28
ἐγχρονίζει δικαίοις εὐφροσύνη ἐλπὶς δὲ ἀσεβῶν ὄλλυται
Gladness lingers with the righteous, but the hope of the impious perishes.
喜樂長久停留在義人身上,不敬虔之人的指望卻要滅亡。
10:29
ὀχύρωμα ὁσίου φόβος κυρίου συντριβὴ δὲ τοῖς ἐργαζομένοις κακά
The fear of the Lord is a stronghold for the devout, but ruin for those who work evils.
敬畏主是虔誠人的保障,對作惡的人卻是毀壞。
10:30
δίκαιος τὸν αἰῶνα οὐκ ἐνδώσει ἀσεβεῖς δὲ οὐκ οἰκήσουσιν γῆν
The righteous will never give way, but the impious will not dwell in the land.
義人永不退讓,不敬虔的人卻不得居住在地上。
10:31
στόμα δικαίου ἀποστάζει σοφίαν γλῶσσα δὲ ἀδίκου ἐξολεῖται
The mouth of the righteous distils wisdom, but the tongue of the unjust will be utterly destroyed.
義人的口滴下智慧,不義之人的舌頭卻要被剪除。
10:32
χείλη ἀνδρῶν δικαίων ἀποστάζει χάριτας στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀποστρέφεται
The lips of righteous men distil favours, but the mouth of the impious turns away.
義人的嘴唇滴下恩惠,不敬虔之人的口卻轉離正道。
