αἱρετώτερον ὄνομα καλὸν ἢ πλοῦτος πολύς ὑπὲρ δὲ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον χάρις ἀγαθή
A good name is more to be chosen than great wealth, and good favor above silver and gold.
美名比大量的財富更可取,美好的恩惠勝過銀子和金子。

πλούσιος καὶ πτωχὸς συνήντησαν ἀλλήλοις ἀμφοτέρους δὲ ὁ κύριος ἐποίησεν
A rich man and a poor man met one another, and the Lord made them both.
富足人與貧窮人彼此相遇,這兩種人都是主造的。

πανοῦργος ἰδὼν πονηρὸν τιμωρούμενον κραταιῶς αὐτὸς παιδεύεται οἱ δὲ ἄφρονες παρελθόντες ἐζημιώθησαν
A shrewd man, seeing an evil man punished severely, is himself instructed; but fools passed on by and suffered loss.
精明的人看見惡人受嚴厲的刑罰,自己就受了管教;愚昧人卻走了過去,以致受虧損。

γενεὰ σοφίας φόβος κυρίου καὶ πλοῦτος καὶ δόξα καὶ ζωή
The offspring of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and wealth and glory and life.
智慧所生的就是敬畏主,以及財富、榮耀與生命。

τρίβολοι καὶ παγίδες ἐν ὁδοῖς σκολιαῖς ὁ δὲ φυλάσσων τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ψυχὴν ἀφέξεται αὐτῶν
Caltrops and snares are in crooked ways, but he who guards his own soul will keep away from them.
乖僻的道路上有蒺藜和網羅,保守自己魂的人必遠離這些。

πλούσιοι πτωχῶν ἄρξουσιν καὶ οἰκέται ἰδίοις δεσπόταις δανιοῦσιν
The rich will rule over the poor, and household servants will lend to their own masters.
富足人必轄管貧窮人,僕人必借貸給自己的主人。

ὁ σπείρων φαῦλα θερίσει κακά πληγὴν δὲ ἔργων αὐτοῦ συντελέσει ἄνδρα ἱλαρὸν καὶ δότην εὐλογεῖ ὁ θεός ματαιότητα δὲ ἔργων αὐτοῦ συντελέσει
He who sows worthless things will reap evils, and he will bring to completion the stroke of his works. God blesses a cheerful man and a giver, but he will bring to an end the vanity of his works.
撒下卑劣之事的,必收割禍患,也必受盡自己作為的責打。神賜福給喜樂施捨的人,卻使他所作虛空的事歸於終結。

ὁ ἐλεῶν πτωχὸν αὐτὸς διατραφήσεται τῶν γὰρ ἑαυτοῦ ἄρτων ἔδωκεν τῷ πτωχῷ νίκην καὶ τιμὴν περιποιεῖται ὁ δῶρα δούς τὴν μέντοι ψυχὴν ἀφαιρεῖται τῶν κεκτημένων
He who shows mercy to the poor will himself be sustained, for he gave of his own bread to the poor. He who gives gifts secures victory and honor for himself, yet he takes away the soul of those who receive them.
憐憫窮人的,自己必得供養,因為他把自己的餅分給了窮人。送禮的人為自己贏得勝利與尊榮,卻奪去了收受之人的魂。

ἔκβαλε ἐκ συνεδρίου λοιμόν καὶ συνεξελεύσεται αὐτῷ νεῖκος ὅταν γὰρ καθίσῃ ἐν συνεδρίῳ πάντας ἀτιμάζει
Cast the pestilent man out of the council, and strife will go out with him; for when he sits in council he dishonors everyone.
把瘟疫般的人趕出議會,爭端就與他一同出去;因為他坐在議會中的時候,就羞辱眾人。

ἀγαπᾷ κύριος ὁσίας καρδίας δεκτοὶ δὲ αὐτῷ πάντες ἄμωμοι χείλεσιν ποιμαίνει βασιλεύς
The Lord loves holy hearts, and all who are blameless in lips are acceptable to him; a king shepherds with his lips.
主愛聖潔的心,凡嘴唇無瑕疵的都蒙他悅納;王用嘴唇牧養人。
22:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου διατηροῦσιν αἴσθησιν φαυλίζει δὲ λόγους παράνομος
But the eyes of the Lord preserve perception, while the lawless man makes light of words.
主的眼目保守知覺,不法的人卻輕看言語。
22:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
προφασίζεται καὶ λέγει ὀκνηρός λέων ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς ἐν δὲ ταῖς πλατείαις φονευταί
The sluggard makes excuses and says, "There is a lion in the roads, and murderers in the streets."
懶惰人找藉口說:「路上有獅子,街上有兇手。」

βόθρος βαθὺς στόμα παρανόμου ὁ δὲ μισηθεὶς ὑπὸ κυρίου ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς αὐτόν εἰσὶν ὁδοὶ κακαὶ ἐνώπιον ἀνδρός καὶ οὐκ ἀγαπᾷ τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀποστρέφειν δὲ δεῖ ἀπὸ ὁδοῦ σκολιᾶς καὶ κακῆς
The mouth of a lawless man is a deep pit, and he who is hated by the Lord will fall into it. There are evil ways before a man, and he does not like to turn away from them; yet one must turn away from a crooked and evil way.
不法之人的口是深坑,為主所恨惡的人必掉在其中。人面前有惡的道路,他卻不喜歡離開;然而人必須離開乖僻邪惡的道路。

ἄνοια ἐξῆπται καρδίας νέου ῥάβδος δὲ καὶ παιδεία μακρὰν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ
Folly is fastened to the heart of a youth, but the rod and instruction are far from him.
愚蒙緊繫在少年人的心上,杖與管教卻離他甚遠。

ὁ συκοφαντῶν πένητα πολλὰ ποιεῖ τὰ ἑαυτοῦ δίδωσιν δὲ πλουσίῳ ἐπ’ ἐλάσσονι
He who extorts from a poor man increases his own goods much, but he who gives to a rich man does so for the less.
欺壓貧困人的,是為自己增添許多;把東西送給富足人的,反倒減少。
22:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
λόγοις σοφῶν παράβαλλε σὸν οὖς καὶ ἄκουε ἐμὸν λόγον τὴν δὲ σὴν καρδίαν ἐπίστησον ἵνα γνῷς ὅτι καλοί εἰσιν
Incline your ear to the words of the wise, and hear my word; and fix your heart upon it, that you may know that they are good.
你要側耳聽智慧人的話語,也要聽我的言語;要留心你的心,好使你知道這些話是美好的。
22:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἐὰν ἐμβάλῃς αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν σου εὐφρανοῦσίν σε ἅμα ἐπὶ σοῖς χείλεσιν
And if you put them into your heart, they will gladden you, and likewise be upon your lips.
你若把它們放進你的心裡,它們就必使你歡喜,也一同在你的嘴唇上。
22:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἵνα σου γένηται ἐπὶ κύριον ἡ ἐλπὶς καὶ γνωρίσῃ σοι τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ
So that your hope may be upon the Lord, and that he may make his way known to you.
為要使你的指望在於主,他也要把自己的道路指示你。
22:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ σὺ δὲ ἀπόγραψαι αὐτὰ σεαυτῷ τρισσῶς εἰς βουλὴν καὶ γνῶσιν ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος τῆς καρδίας σου
And you, write them down for yourself threefold, for counsel and knowledge upon the breadth of your heart.
你也要把這些話三重地為自己記錄下來,使謀略與知識寬廣地存在你心裡。
22:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
διδάσκω οὖν σε ἀληθῆ λόγον καὶ γνῶσιν ἀγαθὴν ὑπακούειν τοῦ ἀποκρίνεσθαι λόγους ἀληθείας τοῖς προβαλλομένοις σοι
Therefore I teach you a true word and good knowledge to obey, so that you may answer words of truth to those who put questions to you.
所以我把真實的話語和良善的知識教導你,叫你聽從,好用真理的話回答那些向你提問的人。
22:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ ἀποβιάζου πένητα πτωχὸς γάρ ἐστιν καὶ μὴ ἀτιμάσῃς ἀσθενῆ ἐν πύλαις
Do not use force against a poor man, for he is needy; and do not dishonor the weak in the gates.
不可強奪貧困人,因為他是窮乏的;也不可在城門口羞辱軟弱的人。
22:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ γὰρ κύριος κρινεῖ αὐτοῦ τὴν κρίσιν καὶ ῥύσῃ σὴν ἄσυλον ψυχήν
For the Lord will judge his case, and you will rescue your own inviolable soul.
因為主必為他審斷他的案件,你也必救自己的魂不受侵害。
22:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ ἴσθι ἑταῖρος ἀνδρὶ θυμώδει φίλῳ δὲ ὀργίλῳ μὴ συναυλίζου
Do not be a companion to a hot-tempered man, and do not lodge together with a wrathful friend.
不要作暴怒之人的同伴,也不要與易怒的朋友同住。
22:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μήποτε μάθῃς τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ λάβῃς βρόχους τῇ σῇ ψυχῇ
lest you learn his ways and take nooses for your own soul.
恐怕你學了他的行徑,給自己的魂取來網羅。
22:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ δίδου σεαυτὸν εἰς ἐγγύην αἰσχυνόμενος πρόσωπον
Do not give yourself as surety out of shame before a man's face.
不要因顧全人的情面,就把自己交出去作擔保。
22:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐὰν γὰρ μὴ ἔχῃς πόθεν ἀποτείσῃς λήμψονται τὸ στρῶμα τὸ ὑπὸ τὰς πλευράς σου
For if you have nothing from which to pay, they will take the bedding from under your sides.
你若沒有甚麼可以償還,他們就要拿走你肋下的褥子。
22:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ μέταιρε ὅρια αἰώνια ἃ ἔθεντο οἱ πατέρες σου
Do not move the ancient boundaries which your fathers set.
不可挪移你列祖所立的古舊地界。
22:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὁρατικὸν ἄνδρα καὶ ὀξὺν ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις αὐτοῦ βασιλεῦσι δεῖ παρεστάναι καὶ μὴ παρεστάναι ἀνδράσι νωθροῖς
A man of vision and quick in his works ought to stand before kings, and not to stand before sluggish men.
有眼光又在工作上敏捷的人,該侍立在君王面前,不該侍立在遲鈍的人面前。
