προφάσεις ζητεῖ ἀνὴρ βουλόμενος χωρίζεσθαι ἀπὸ φίλων ἐν παντὶ δὲ καιρῷ ἐπονείδιστος ἔσται
A man who wishes to separate himself from friends looks for pretexts, and at every season he will be open to reproach.
想與朋友分離的人尋找藉口,他無論何時都要受人責備。
18:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οὐ χρείαν ἔχει σοφίας ἐνδεὴς φρενῶν μᾶλλον γὰρ ἄγεται ἀφροσύνῃ
One who lacks sense has no need of wisdom, for he is rather led by folly.
缺乏心思的人不需要智慧,因為他反倒被愚妄牽引。

ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἀσεβὴς εἰς βάθος κακῶν καταφρονεῖ ἐπέρχεται δὲ αὐτῷ ἀτιμία καὶ ὄνειδος
When an ungodly man comes into the depth of evils, he shows contempt; but dishonor and reproach come upon him.
不敬虔的人陷入罪惡深處時就藐視一切,羞辱與凌辱卻臨到他。

ὕδωρ βαθὺ λόγος ἐν καρδίᾳ ἀνδρός ποταμὸς δὲ ἀναπηδύει καὶ πηγὴ ζωῆς
A word in a man's heart is deep water, and a river gushes up, a fountain of life.
人心裡的話語是深水,又如湧流的河和生命的泉源。

θαυμάσαι πρόσωπον ἀσεβοῦς οὐ καλόν οὐδὲ ὅσιον ἐκκλίνειν τὸ δίκαιον ἐν κρίσει
To show partiality to the face of an ungodly man is not good, nor is it holy to turn aside what is just in judgment.
看不敬虔之人的臉面是不好的,在審判中屈枉公義也是不虔的。

χείλη ἄφρονος ἄγουσιν αὐτὸν εἰς κακά τὸ δὲ στόμα αὐτοῦ τὸ θρασὺ θάνατον ἐπικαλεῖται
The lips of a fool lead him into evils, and his bold mouth calls down death.
愚昧人的嘴唇把他帶入禍患,他狂妄的口招來死亡。
18:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
στόμα ἄφρονος συντριβὴ αὐτῷ τὰ δὲ χείλη αὐτοῦ παγὶς τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ
A fool's mouth is ruin to him, and his lips are a snare to his soul.
愚昧人的口是他的敗壞,他的嘴唇是他魂的網羅。

ὀκνηροὺς καταβάλλει φόβος ψυχαὶ δὲ ἀνδρογύνων πεινάσουσιν
Fear casts down the slothful, and the souls of the effeminate will go hungry.
恐懼使懶惰的人仆倒,柔弱之人的魂必飢餓。

ὁ μὴ ἰώμενος ἑαυτὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις αὐτοῦ ἀδελφός ἐστιν τοῦ λυμαινομένου ἑαυτόν
He who does not heal himself in his works is brother to the one who ruins himself.
在自己工作上不醫治自己的人,就是毀壞自己之人的弟兄。

ἐκ μεγαλωσύνης ἰσχύος ὄνομα κυρίου αὐτῷ δὲ προσδραμόντες δίκαιοι ὑψοῦνται
The name of the Lord is from the greatness of strength, and the righteous who run to him are exalted.
主的名出於大能的威嚴,義人奔向他就得高舉。

ὕπαρξις πλουσίου ἀνδρὸς πόλις ὀχυρά ἡ δὲ δόξα αὐτῆς μέγα ἐπισκιάζει
The wealth of a rich man is a strong city, and its glory casts a great shadow.
富人的財物是堅固的城,它的榮耀大大地遮蔽人。

πρὸ συντριβῆς ὑψοῦται καρδία ἀνδρός καὶ πρὸ δόξης ταπεινοῦται
Before ruin a man's heart is lifted up, and before glory it is humbled.
人心在敗壞之先自高,在得榮耀之先降卑。

ὃς ἀποκρίνεται λόγον πρὶν ἀκοῦσαι ἀφροσύνη αὐτῷ ἐστιν καὶ ὄνειδος
He who answers a word before hearing—it is folly to him, and reproach.
未曾聽完就先回答的,這對他是愚妄和羞辱。

θυμὸν ἀνδρὸς πραΰνει θεράπων φρόνιμος ὀλιγόψυχον δὲ ἄνδρα τίς ὑποίσει
A prudent attendant soothes a man's wrath, but a faint-hearted man—who can bear him?
通達的僕人能平息人的怒氣,心志灰弱的人誰能擔當呢?
18:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καρδία φρονίμου κτᾶται αἴσθησιν ὦτα δὲ σοφῶν ζητεῖ ἔννοιαν
The heart of the prudent acquires perception, and the ears of the wise seek insight.
通達人的心獲得知覺,智慧人的耳朵尋求智思。

δόμα ἀνθρώπου ἐμπλατύνει αὐτὸν καὶ παρὰ δυνάσταις καθιζάνει αὐτόν
A man's gift makes room for him and seats him among rulers.
人的禮物為他開路,使他得以坐在掌權者中間。

δίκαιος ἑαυτοῦ κατήγορος ἐν πρωτολογίᾳ ὡς δ’ ἂν ἐπιβάλῃ ὁ ἀντίδικος ἐλέγχεται
A righteous man is his own accuser in the opening speech, but when his opponent puts in his case, he is examined.
義人在首次陳述時就自己控告自己;但對方一提出申辯,他就受查驗。

ἀντιλογίας παύει κλῆρος ἐν δὲ δυνάσταις ὁρίζει
The lot puts an end to disputes and decides between rulers.
抽籤止息爭辯,也在掌權者之間裁定。

ἀδελφὸς ὑπὸ ἀδελφοῦ βοηθούμενος ὡς πόλις ὀχυρὰ καὶ ὑψηλή ἰσχύει δὲ ὥσπερ τεθεμελιωμένον βασίλειον
A brother helped by a brother is like a strong and high city, and he is mighty as a well-founded palace.
弟兄得弟兄的幫助,就如堅固高大的城;他堅強如同根基穩固的王宮。
18:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἀπὸ καρπῶν στόματος ἀνὴρ πίμπλησιν κοιλίαν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ δὲ καρπῶν χειλέων αὐτοῦ ἐμπλησθήσεται
From the fruits of his mouth a man fills his belly, and from the fruits of his lips he will be satisfied.
人因口中的果子得以飽足,因嘴唇的果子得以滿足。
18:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
θάνατος καὶ ζωὴ ἐν χειρὶ γλώσσης οἱ δὲ κρατοῦντες αὐτῆς ἔδονται τοὺς καρποὺς αὐτῆς
Death and life are in the hand of the tongue, and those who master it will eat its fruits.
死亡和生命都在舌頭的手中,掌握它的人必吃它的果子。
18:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ὃς εὗρεν γυναῖκα ἀγαθήν εὗρεν χάριτας ἔλαβεν δὲ παρὰ θεοῦ ἱλαρότητα ὃς ἐκβάλλει γυναῖκα ἀγαθήν ἐκβάλλει τὰ ἀγαθά ὁ δὲ κατέχων μοιχαλίδα ἄφρων καὶ ἀσεβής
He who has found a good wife has found favors, and has received gladness from God. He who casts out a good wife casts out good things, but he who keeps an adulteress is foolish and ungodly.
得著賢妻的,是得著恩惠,也從神領受了喜樂。休棄賢妻的,是趕走福分;留住淫婦的,是愚昧不敬虔的人。
