ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

For among us even until now there are prophetic gifts, from which you yourselves also ought to understand that the things which formerly existed in your nation have been transferred to us. But just as there were false prophets in the time of your holy prophets, so among us now also there are many false teachers, against whom our Lord forewarned us to be on guard, so that we are in no respect deficient, knowing that He foreknew the things that were to come upon us after His resurrection from the dead and ascent into heaven.
For He said that we would be killed and hated for His name's sake, and that many false prophets and false christs would come in His name and would deceive many—which is indeed the case.
For many have taught godless and blasphemous and unjust things, counterfeiting them in His name, and have taught, and teach until now, the things cast into their minds by the unclean spirit, the devil; whom, like you, we strive to persuade not to be deceived, knowing that everyone who is able to speak the truth and does not speak it shall be judged by God, as God testified through Ezekiel, saying: "I have set you as a watchman to the house of Judah. If the sinner sins and you do not warn him, he indeed shall perish in his sin, but his blood I will require from you; but if you warn him, you shall be innocent."
Therefore out of fear we too are zealous to converse according to the Scriptures, but not out of love of money or love of glory or love of pleasure; for in none of these can anyone convict us of being. For neither do we wish to live like the rulers of your people, whom God reproaches, saying: "Your rulers are companions of thieves, loving gifts, pursuing recompense." And if you know some such persons even among us, yet do not, on account of such people, blaspheme the Scriptures and the Christ, nor be zealous to misinterpret them.
