ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
For thus I shall in every way be found guiltless for your sake, if by making demonstrations I strive to persuade you. But if you, remaining hard-hearted or feeble in judgment because of the death appointed for Christians, are unwilling to assent to the truth, you will show yourselves to be the cause of your own ruin. And you deceive yourselves, supposing that because you are by the flesh the seed of Abraham you will by all means inherit the good things announced by God as to be given through Christ.
For no one can receive any of those things from any source, except those who have become like Abraham in disposition by faith and have recognized all the mysteries—I mean, that one commandment was ordained for piety and righteous conduct, while another commandment and practice was likewise spoken either with reference to the mystery of Christ or on account of the hardness of heart of your people. And that this is so, God, declaring concerning this matter in Ezekiel, said: "Though Noah and Jacob and Daniel should ask for sons or daughters, it shall not be given to them."
And in Isaiah He spoke to this same effect thus: "The Lord God said: And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against Me; for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh."
So that you must cut this hope away from your souls and be eager to recognize the way through which forgiveness of your sins will come to you and the hope of the inheritance of the good things that have been announced. And it is no other than this: that, having recognized this Christ and having been washed with the washing proclaimed through Isaiah for the forgiveness of sins, you may henceforth live sinlessly.
