ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
"But also the fact that twelve bells were attached to the high priest's full-length robe [was delivered as a symbol] of the twelve apostles, who were kindled from the power of the eternal priest, Christ, through whose voice all the earth was filled with the glory and grace of God and of His Christ; it was a symbol. Therefore David also says: 'Their sound has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.'"
And Isaiah, speaking as it were in the person of the apostles, who say to Christ that they do not believe through their own report but through the power of Him who sent them, on this account speaks thus: "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? We have proclaimed before Him as a little child, as a root in a thirsty ground"—and the rest of the prophecy that has been quoted above.
Now the saying of the prophetic word, as if from the person of many, "We have proclaimed before Him," and the addition "as a little child," indicates that the wicked, having become subject to Him, served His command, and that all became as one child. This may be observed also in the case of the body: though its members are numbered as many, the whole is called and is one body. For indeed a people and a church, though many in number, being as one thing, are called and addressed by the one name.
"And likewise all the other things which Moses ordained, gentlemen," I said, "I am able, by enumerating them, to demonstrate to be types and symbols and announcements of the things that were to come to pass concerning Christ, and of those foreknown to believe in Him, and of the things that were likewise to be done by Christ Himself. But since the things I have now enumerated seem to me to be sufficient, I pass on in order and come to the argument."
