ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

For among us the ruler of the wicked demons is called the serpent and Satan and the devil, as you can learn by searching from our own writings; and Christ foretold that he, with his host and the men who follow him, would be sent into the fire, to be punished for the boundless age. And the reason God delays in not yet doing this is for the sake of the human race; for he foreknows that some are going to be saved by repentance, and some, perhaps, are not yet even born. And in the beginning he made the human race intelligent and able to choose the truth and to do well, so that all men are without excuse before God; for they have been made rational and capable of reflection. But if anyone disbelieves that God cares for these things, he will either, by some craft, deny that he exists, or, granting that he exists, will say that he delights in wickedness, or that he remains like a stone, and that there is no such thing as virtue or vice, but only by opinion do men reckon these things to be either good or evil—which is the greatest impiety and injustice.
