ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
Let us glorify God, all the nations gathered together, because He has also visited us; let us glorify Him through the King of glory, through the Lord of hosts. For He has shown favour also toward the nations, and He receives sacrifices more gladly from us than from you. What further account, then, of circumcision remains for me, who have been testified to by God? What need is there of that baptism for one who has been baptized with the Holy Spirit?
By saying these things I think I shall persuade even those of little understanding. For these words have not been concocted by me, nor adorned with human art, but David sang them, Isaiah proclaimed them as good news, Zechariah preached them, and Moses wrote them down. Do you recognize them, Trypho? They are laid up in your writings—or rather not yours, but ours; for we trust in them, while you, though you read them, do not understand the meaning that is in them.
Do not, then, be vexed, nor reproach us for the foreskin of the body, which God Himself formed; nor consider it dreadful that we drink something warm on the Sabbaths, since God has carried on the same governance of the world likewise on this day as on all the others, and the high priests were commanded to make the offerings on this day just as on the other days, and so many righteous men, who did none of these legal observances, have been testified to by God Himself.
