📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

Thus says the Lord: Behold, waters are rising from the north, and they shall become an overflowing torrent, and it shall flood the land and its fullness, the city and those who dwell in it; and the people shall cry out, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
At the sound of his onrush, at the hoofs of his feet, and at the shaking of his chariots, the noise of his wheels, fathers did not turn back for their sons, because of the feebleness of their hands,
in the day that comes to destroy all the foreigners. And I will wipe out Tyre and Sidon and all the remnant of their help, for the Lord will utterly destroy the remnant of the islands.
