ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

21:1
The word that came from the Lord to Jeremias, when king Sedekias sent to him Paschor son of Melchias and Sophonias son of Maasaias the priest, saying:
Inquire of the Lord for us, for the king of Babylon has taken his stand against us—whether the Lord will act according to all his wonders, and he will withdraw from us.
And Jeremias said to them: Thus shall you say to Sedekias king of Iouda:
Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am turning back the weapons of war with which you are fighting against the Chaldeans who have shut you in outside the wall, into the midst of this city.
And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a mighty arm, with rage and anger and great indignation.
And I will strike all those dwelling in this city, both the people and the cattle, with a great pestilence, and they shall die.
And after these things, thus says the Lord: I will give Sedekias king of Iouda and his servants and the people left in this city from the pestilence and from the famine and from the sword into the hands of their enemies who seek their lives; and they shall cut them down by the mouth of the sword. I will not spare them, nor will I ever pity them.
And to this people you shall say: Thus says the Lord: Behold, I have set before your face the way of life and the way of death.
He who stays in this city shall die by the sword and by famine, but he who goes out to go over to the Chaldeans who have shut you in shall live, and his life shall be his as spoil, and he shall live.
For I have set my face against this city for evil and not for good; it shall be handed over into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it down with fire.
O house of the king of Iouda, hear the word of the Lord!
O house of Dauid, thus says the Lord: Execute judgement in the morning, and make it straight, and rescue the one plundered from the hand of the one wronging him, lest my anger be kindled like fire and burn, and there be none to quench it.
Behold, I am against you who dwell in the valley of Sor, the plain—you who say: Who shall terrify us, or who shall come into our dwelling place?
And I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour everything around her.
