ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

Thus said the Lord: He who dwells in this city shall die by sword and by famine; but he who goes out to the Chaldeans shall live, and his life shall be to him as something found, and he shall live.
And they said to the king: Let that man be put to death, for he weakens the hands of the men of war who are left in the city and the hands of all the people, by speaking to them according to these words; for this man does not utter oracles of peace to this people, but rather of evil.
And they cast him into the pit of Melchias the king's son, which was in the court of the prison; and they let him down into the pit. And in the pit there was no water but mire, and he was in the mire.
And Abdemelech the Ethiopian heard — and he was in the king's house — that they had put Ieremias into the pit; and the king was in the gate of Beniamin.
And Abdemelech took the men and went into the king's house, into the part underground, and took from there old rags and old ropes, and threw them down to Ieremias into the pit.
And the king sent and called him to himself, into the house of aselisi which is in the house of the Lord. And the king said to him: I will ask you a word; do not hide anything from me.
And Ieremias said to him: Thus said the Lord: If you will surely go out to the commanders of the king of Babylon, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, you and your house.
And the king said to Ieremias: I have a word about the Judeans who have fled to the Chaldeans: that they not give me into their hands, and they mock me.
And Ieremias said: They shall not hand you over. Hear the word of the Lord which I speak to you, and it shall be better for you, and your soul shall live.
And behold, all the women who were left in the house of the king of Judah were being led out to the rulers of the king of Babylon; and these were saying: They deceived you, and they shall prevail against you — your men of peace; and they shall bring your feet down in slippery places. They have turned away from you.
And your wives and your children they shall lead out to the Chaldeans; and you shall not escape, for by the hand of the king of Babylon you shall be seized, and this city shall be burned with fire.
And if the rulers hear that I spoke with you, and they come to you and say to you: Tell us what the king said to you; do not hide it from us, and we will not kill you — and what did the king speak to you?
And all the rulers came to Ieremias and questioned him; and he reported to them according to all these words which the king had commanded him. And they fell silent, because the word of the Lord had not been heard.
