ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
129:1
I. Ut non possent intendere filii Israel in faciem Moysi, propter gloriam vultus ejus. II. Item de eodem. III. Quoniam dum sumus iu corpore, peregrinamur a Domino, etc. IV. Quoniam quidem Deus est iu Christo, mundum reconcilians sibi. V. Audivit arcana verba quæ non licet homini loqui.
I. That the children of Israel could not gaze upon the face of Moses, because of the glory of his countenance. II. Likewise concerning the same. III. That while we are in the body, we are pilgrims away from the Lord, and so forth. IV. That indeed God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself. V. He heard secret words which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
