And he did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, only not like his father and not like his mother; and he removed the pillars of Baal which his father had made.
And Mosa king of Moab was a nōkēd, and at the uprising he used to render to the king of Israel a hundred thousand lambs and a hundred thousand rams with their fleeces.
And he went and sent to Iosaphat king of Iouda, saying: The king of Moab has broken faith with me; will you go with me against Moab to war? And he said: I will go up; I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.

約沙法說:我們從哪條路上去呢?約蘭說:從以東曠野的路上去。
And he said: By which road shall we go up? And he said: By the road of the wilderness of Edom.
And the king of Israel and the king of Iouda and the king of Edom went, and they made a circuit of a seven days' journey, and there was no water for the camp or for the animals at their feet.
And Iosaphat said: Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord through him? And one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said: Elisaie son of Saphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Eliou.
And Elisaie said to the king of Israel: What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father. And the king of Israel said to him: No, for the Lord has called these three kings to hand them over into the hands of Moab.
And Elisaie said: As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I regard the presence of Iosaphat king of Iouda, I would not look at you or notice you.
For thus says the Lord: You shall not see wind and you shall not see rain, yet this wadi shall be filled with water, and you shall drink, you and your livestock and your animals.
And it happened in the morning, as the sacrifice was going up, behold, waters were coming from the direction of Edom, and the land was filled with water.
And all Moab heard that the kings had come up to make war on them, and they cried out, everyone who could gird on a belt and older, and they took their stand at the border.
And they came into the camp of Israel, and Israel rose up and struck Moab, and they fled from before them. And they went in, pressing on and striking down Moab.
And they tore down the cities, and on every good plot of land each man threw his stone and filled it up; and they stopped up every spring of water and cut down every good tree, until they left only the stones of the wall torn down; and the slingers surrounded it and struck it.
And the king of Moab saw that the battle had grown too strong for him, and he took with him seven hundred men who drew the sword, to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not.
And he took his firstborn son, who was to reign in his place, and offered him up as a whole burnt offering on the wall. And there was great remorse upon Israel, and they withdrew from him and returned to their own land.
