And he sent against him the raiding bands of the Chaldeans and the raiding bands of Syria and the raiding bands of Moab and the raiding bands of the sons of Ammon, and he sent them out into the land of Iouda to prevail against it, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by the hand of his servants the prophets.
Surely it was by the wrath of the Lord that this came upon Iouda, to remove him from before his face, because of the sins of Manasses, according to all that he did.
And the king of Egypt did not come out again from his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt, from the wadi of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

And he carried away Ierousalem captive, and all the princes and the mighty men of strength, taking ten thousand captive, and every craftsman and the smith; and none was left except the poor of the land.
And he carried Ioakim away to Babylon, and the mother of the king and the wives of the king and his eunuchs and the strong men of the land he led away captive from Ierousalem to Babylon.
And all the men of might, seven thousand, and the craftsman and the smith, a thousand—all mighty men making war—the king of Babylon brought them as exiles to Babylon.
Sedekias was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Ierousalem; and his mother's name was Amital, daughter of Ieremias.
For it was by the wrath of the Lord that it came upon Ierousalem and upon Iouda, until he cast them out from before his face. And Sedekias broke faith with the king of Babylon.
