歷代志上 第 11 章

And all Israel came to David at Chebron, saying, Behold, we are your bones and your flesh.

And in times past, while Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord your God said to you, You shall shepherd my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over Israel.

And all the elders of Israel came to the king at Chebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Chebron before the Lord; and they anointed David as king over Israel according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Samuel.

And the king and the men of Israel went to Jerusalem, that is Jebus, and there were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You shall not come in here. But David captured first the stronghold of Sion; this is the city of David.

And David said, Whoever strikes a Jebusite first shall become chief and commander. And Joab son of Sarouia went up against it first, and he became chief.

And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore he called it the city of David.

And he built the city round about, and he fought and took the city.

And David went on, growing ever greater, and the Lord Almighty was with him.

And these are the chiefs of the mighty men who belonged to David, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

And this is the number of David's mighty men: Iesebaal son of Achamani, first of the thirty; he drew his sword once against three hundred slain at one time.

And after him Eleazar son of Dodai the Achochite; he was among the three mighty men.

This man was with David at Phasodomin, and the Philistines were gathered there for battle; and there was a portion of the field full of barley, and the people fled from before the Philistines.

But he stood in the midst of the portion and saved it, and struck the Philistines; and the Lord wrought a great deliverance.

And three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, to the cave of Odollam, and the camp of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of the giants.

And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Baithleem.

And David longed and said, Who will give me water to drink from the cistern of Baithleem that is at the gate?

And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water from the cistern that was in Baithleem, which was at the gate, and they took it and came to David. But David would not drink it, and he poured it out as a libation to the Lord.

And he said, May God be merciful to me, that I should do this thing. Shall I drink the blood of these men at the cost of their lives? For at the cost of their lives they brought it. And he would not drink it. These things the three mighty men did.

And Abessa the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three. He drew his sword against three hundred slain at one time, and he was renowned among the three.

Of the three he was more honored than the two, and he became their chief; but he did not attain to the three.

And Banaias son of Jodae, son of a mighty man; many were his deeds, from Kabasael. He struck down the two ariel of Moab; and he went down and struck down the lion in the pit on a day of snow.

And he struck down the Egyptian man, a man of striking appearance, five cubits tall; and in the hand of the Egyptian was a spear like a weaver's beam. And Banaias went down against him with a staff, and took the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear.

These things Banaias son of Jodae did, and he had a name among the three mighty men.

He was more honored than the thirty, but he did not attain to the three; and David set him over his family.

And the mighty men of the forces: Asael the brother of Joab, Eleanan son of Dodo of Baithlaem,

Sammoth the Adite, Chelles the Phelonite,

Orai son of Ekkes the Thekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,

Sobochai the Asothite, Eli the Achoite,

Moorai the Netophathite, Cholod son of Nooza the Netophathite,

Aithi son of Ribai from the hill of Benjamin, Banaias the Pharathonite,

Ouri from Nachaligaas, Abiel the Garabethite,

Azmoth the Beermite, Eliaba the Salabonite,

Bennaias; Osom the Gennounite; Jonathan son of Sola the Ararite,

Achim son of Sachar the Ararite, Elphal son of Our,

Ophar the Mochorathite, Achia the Phelonite,

Eserai the Charmalite, Naarai son of Azobai,

Joel the brother of Nathan, Mebaar son of Agari,

Selek the Ammonite, Nachor the Berothite, the armor-bearer of Joab son of Sarouia,

Ira the Jethrite, Gareb the Jethrite,

Ourias the Hittite, Zabet son of Achlia,

Adina son of Saiza of Reuben, a chief, and with him thirty;

Anan son of Moocha, and Josaphat the Baithanite,

Ozia the Astarothite, Samma and Iiel sons of Chothan the Ararite,

Jediel son of Sameri, and Joazae his brother the Jeasite,

Eliel the Miite, and Jaribi, and Josia his son, Elnaam, and Jethema the Moabite,

Aliel and Obed and Jesiel the Misabite.
